sometimes i think about the tenderness and love inherent in taz commitment like....let us pull together three/four people who have drastically different backstories and ideals and personalities and ask them, "what do you believe in? who do you fight for? and what are you willing to sacrifice?"
you pull together these people and tell them, "we can turn you into heroes. but here is your achilles heel--your own powers depend completely on how close you are to your own teammates."
can you imagine being thrown into this mess, wholly dependent on strangers you don't even know? the trust you're forced to have, the faith that someone will watch your back?
and the slow realization--you can trust the others. they do want to help you. you can let your guard down. you can have faith in your teammates.
anyways taz: commitment said "your strength comes literally and metaphorically from the people you surround yourself with, man is not an island, eat the rich, and poly poc rights" im a mess goodbye
🌹 almost didnt want to send this bc i opened ur blog on desktop and ur theme is so ugly god bles
i’m probably not going to post this ever as a fic bc it delves a bit into stuff i don’t think i have the range to talk abt, but i like this part so i want to archive it somewhere, which is why this is way more than a sentence
She sits with herself on the tiny balcony of their apartment—or she sits with Kardala, she should say (so really, she sits with herself). I knew a girl once, Kardala says. Pigeons flap their wings noisily and careen upward into the soft rose of the dawn sky.
Yeah? Irene asks. Her hands are warm around the coffee mug.
Yes. Kardala is silent for a moment. She was beautiful and proud. And her father was a good hunter. Very rich and many gifts to give.
Irene chews on that for a minute, lets it sink in. What happened to her?
She married Raven against her father’s wishes, and he threw her over his kayak.
Oh, says Irene.
Yes, says Kardala.
What happened?
She and Kardala look out over the skyline. Two different people take in the slow cresting of the sun through the same eyes.
She drowned, Kardala says. And then she lived again.
send me a rose and i’ll post an excerpt of a wip!
sometimes i wonder why i decided to fixate so fucking hard on a four-episode mini-arc about three (maybe four, depending on how you look at it) shitty superheros and how they accidentally topple a national vigilante organization that tries to take over the government then i remember that a) i’m a slut for teams that initially hate each other and then learn slowly to work together, b) iconic of none of the main characters to be white, and c) almost every single female character is my type
HOLY FUCKING SHIT I WILL CRY
real facts tho? real fucking facts?? what will it take for them to release more taz commitment because i miss my kids so fucking much
How about one for everyone in the Commitment Crew? (Including Mary Sage if you have any headcanons for her :0 )
!!!!! thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about my kids!!! (i’m writing fic for them rn so i’m putting love languages in too shhhh)
I’m actually putting this under a read more because to no one’s surprise, I have a lot of feelings about them
@ the McElroys please don't tease my heart with potential Commitment liveshows my heart wouldn't be able to take it if you forget
