Alright people buckle up because here is a post that I spent too long on about how the finale didn’t make sense! (I know these rarely get notes but i enjoy making them so eh)
Okay so in the finale when Sam was living his life Dean was just driving in heaven and never fucking did anything. And well...time wise it doesn’t make sense, because we know that at least the hell time to earth time ratio is always the same. And we can’t use hell time for heaven time because then Dean would’ve been driving for centuries. So assuming the heaven time to earth time ratio is different than the one for hell and earth, and it is always the same then...
Let’s assume that Sam was alive to 50 more years okay? Let’s also assume that Dean was driving for about 3 hours heaven time.
So basically, we’re gonna do 50/3 to get how many years can pass on earth in an hour on heaven. The answer is 16.7 (I’m rounding for simplicity purposes).
To make my point further, let’s do 16.7/60 to get how much time can pass on earth in a minute. The answer is 0.27 of a year or 3 months and a week. So in one minute on heaven 3 months and a week can pass.
Now, think back to the finale. Specifically how much Bobby seemed to know about heaven. That implicates that he has spent a lot of time there.
Because I don’t feel like doing more math, let’s say that 3 months on earth passed in between them killing Chuck and the finale. That would mean that less than a fucking minute in heaven would’ve passed. So how did Bobby know so much?
One answer is that time ratio in Heaven changes, but that really doesn’t make sense on the account that other people exist. Because in the course of those 50 years, more than just Sam would’ve died. And therefore, it wouldn’t be fair to the rest of heaven if the time was always changing based on just two people. So that doesn’t make sense.
Another answer is that time only felt that way for Dean himself but that also wouldn’t work. Why? Because then it would be weird for people in heaven to interact, and Jack made heaven the way it is so that dead people can interact normally.
Finale answer is that the time was made like this specifically for Sam and Dean. Which...no. It doesn’t make sense for heaven to be made only for them. Like, sure, they also have their own parts of heaven, but there are billions of people in heaven. It can’t be centered around 2 people.
(Also, I just want to address one thing. I’m assuming that Jack changed the time from the original heaven when he remade it and that he basically gave himself infinite time to remake it so he didn’t feel pressure but for everyone else it was like 1 second.)
So my take from this: because the writers had to make ‘covid changes’ the time in heaven doesn’t make sense and is very very stupid. Meaning that even without getting into the rest of the things that it did wrong the finale didn’t make fucking sense!
