The Beast within
A/N: This will probably be a two-three shot depending. I’m not sure on the pairing yet, but there will be one. If there is a specific pairing you’d like in this story, let me know because at this point reader can be paired with anyone :)
Warnings: None I don’t think. Um, unless bad grammar is a warning. I’m a comma whore, just putting that out there and I haven’t written a story in five years so my writing is rusty.
Not sure when the next one will be out. I have a bird and she has removed most of the keys from my keyboard, I can still use it but it takes me awhile to type stuff XD

It had started off as a normal day for you, you had been running errands and getting things done that you had been putting off all week. Then you went to the bank and that is when your day took a turn for the worst. As you were standing in line to withdraw some money four men entered, with masks covering their faces and guns in their hand. They threatened everyone, told them to get down, while two went to get money from the back, the other two stayed up front watching everyone that was there.
It was then that you noticed the little kid in the corner, you wondered what he was doing by himself and why he wasn't huddled safely with one of his parents, but then you couldn't think about it any further when he started to rise. One of the gunmen noticed and approached the little boy, yelling at him to get down. The little boy was obviously too frightened to listen and stood there crying. As you saw the man begin to get closer to the little boy you forgot about your own fear, the only thing on your mind was protecting the child.
It all happened so fast, one moment you were lying on the floor and the next you were rushing in front of the boy and facing the masked man. You told him to leave the boy alone, which only seemed to irritate him more because he pointed the gun at you and fired. You heard his partner yell at him, telling him they weren't suppose to shoot anyone, the man seemed frustrated and shoved you aside. You were still shocked from being shot, and you weren't sure where you were shot-you felt the pain when it entered but your mind didn't register where it had entered, because of your shock you didn't have your footing when the man pushed you which lead to you going back with the force of the push and losing your footing. You felt a sharp pain in your head and then you had lost your vision. Everything you saw was black.
You were still conscious though, you could hear all going on around you. You could hear the boy crying and some people shouting and then you heard….growling? Not just growling, it was more like a full on snarl. Where was that coming from? It started to grow and as it grew you felt your body grow hotter, like someone was wrapping you up in a blanket. The shouting stopped, you could still hear the child whimpering softly, but it seemed as though everyone in the room was tense, it was so quiet you were sure you could hear a needle drop. You heard someone begin to approach where you were, their footsteps heavy, you acknowledged that it was one of the robbers when he spoke “Where is that growling coming from?” Ah, you thought, so they could hear it too.
As the man got closer to you the growling got louder, by the time he reached you it was so loud it was the only thing you could hear. Then in the background you heard the man curse and then you heard yelling, after that you finally lost consciousness. * * *
You awoke suddenly, your head pounding you slowly opened your eyes and were relieved that the room you were in was dimly lit. You brow furrowed as you glanced around the room, where were you exactly? Last thing you knew you were at the bank. Your eyes widened at that thought and you began checking your body for the gun shot wound you would have. You frowned as you found the blood spot on your upper thigh, taking a deep breath you pulled down your pants slightly to see the area, preparing yourself for the worst. What you found shocked you, or it's more what you didn't find that shocked you. There was nothing there, no wound, no scar. If you didn't have the blood on your pants you'd believe that nothing happened to you.
You hesitantly rose and were once again surprised to find that aside from being a little light headed, nothing felt off. Were you dead? Was that why you didn't have a wound and why you were no longer at the bank. Frowning you went to the door of the room and opened it. Stepping out into the hallway you slowly began to go down it. You weren't sure where you were going, you just hoped that you'd find someone soon so you could at least figure out where you were. Cause this sure didn't seem like heaven or hell.
You continued for awhile and then you heard voices, quickening your pace you followed them until you got to the entrance of the room, unsure of who they were you decided to stay hidden and hear what they were saying.
“You can't just kill her Dean! We don't even know fully what happened, we were there and saw everything” one male stated.
Another male responded, his voice rougher than the firsts and you assumed he was Dean. “Exactly! We don't know what happened, all we know is that some growling came from her and then those robbers were killed Sammy! They weren't just killed swiftly either, they were torn apart. By something invisible and that left paw prints. Sounds familiar doesn't it?”
The first male, Sammy you acknowledged, huffed “So what Dean? You think she'QAZ2WHGs a hell hound or something?”
“No I don't think she's a hell hound, but I do think she has one tied to her somehow and the only way to get rid of that is to remove her or have her release it” Dean replied.
Deciding that you've heard enough you stepped into the doorway of the room they were in, you weren't sure which one was Sammy and which was Dean but they were both tall. The one with longer hair was taller than the one with short hair. You cleared your throat and straightened as they turned their attention toward you “Could you guys please tell me where I am? I need to get back home...”
The shorter of the two scoffed, “You aren't going anywhere sweetheart, not until we figure out what's going on”
The taller one glared at the other and then softened his expression when he turned his attention back to you “You're at our home. What's your name?” he questioned.
You tensed at what the first one had said, but decided to answer the question that was asked “My name is Y/N”
The taller one smiled softly “Well Y/N, my name is Sam and this is my older brother dean” he replied, motioning to the other man as he introduced him. You nodded, at least you had a name to a face now. Sam started speaking again “Can you tell us what happened at the bank?” he questioned.
You frowned “I don't remember. There was a robbery and then I saw the little boy was being bothered by the one man. I thought he would hurt the buy so I acted on instinct, to protect him. Then I was shot and knocked out.”
“what about the hell hound that came from you, know anything about that?” Dean questioned.
Your brow furrowed “What hell hound? What are you talking about?” this guy was crazy, that you were sure of.
He seemed to want to say something more but was stopped by Sam, who approached you slowly “Before we talk more about that, why don't we look at your wounds? We bandaged your head but the bleeding stopped on your leg so we left it until you regained consciousness. Do you mind if we look at it ?”
You shifted nervously “About that...I looked when I woke up. There wasn't anything”.
Your response made Sam frown and look toward his brother before turning his attention back to you. “Okay well, how about you sit down. We have a friend who can examine you to make sure there is nothing wrong”
Figuring that you had no clue where you were and what these men wanted from you, you nodded and took a seat. Watching them as you waited for this “friend” to appear. You watched as Dean looked up and started speaking “Cas, we need you here right now”. Your brow furrowed and the thought that this guy might be a little crazy surfaced again.
“What do you need Dean?” You stiffened as a voice suddenly appeared behind you, your heart raced and you turned around to face the new person. How did he get into the room so fast? Was he already in the house and that's why Dean called him as he did?
Sam was the next to speak “Cas, we think something is off with her. Could you check?”
The man Cas frowned but nodded, he went around the chair and you followed him, soon he was standing in front of you as you faced forward in your seat. “What am I looking for?” he asked as he continued to hold your gaze.
“Anything different, weird” Sam replied.
Cas nodded and began to roll up his sleeve and approach you. You pushed yourself as far back in the chair as possible “W-wait don't I get a say in this? What is he going to do?” You questioned.
Sam smile softly “If you want to get out of here, it's best to go along with it. The sooner we figure this out, the sooner you can go home.”
Your eyes narrowed at him “What's there to figure out? I have no clue what you're talking about. There's nothing weird or off about me. I'm completely normal”
This time it was Dean who spoke “So getting shot and having it heal fast is completely normal for you?”
You frowned “W-well no, but that doesn't give you the right to do whatever you're going to do. Isn't there another choice?”
Dean smirked “Trust me sweetheart, this is the better choice.”
The man in front of you, Cas, cleared his throat. Your attention drawn back to him you watched as he made eye contact with both Dean and Sam and gestured toward you, before turning his attention back to you. “This is going to hurt.” he stated softly before coming quickly to you. His hand reaching for your stomach.
You didn't have time to respond, Dean and Sam each took a side of you and made it so you could not move. You watched, terrified, as Cas' arm went into you and with it an intense burn. You heard yourself screaming as you were overwhelmed with pain. It felt like it lasted for hours but it was only for a few moments before Cas quickly withdrew his hand and took a step back, looking at you with wide eyes.
Dean and Sam looked at you and then at Cas. They waited for Cas to speak and when he didn't Dean did “So? Did you find anything?”
You listened as you tried to catch your breath, some pain from the experience still remained but is was slowly fading, being replaced by a weird sensation.
Cas nodded “Y-Yes I did. Why do you have her here? What happened?” he questioned as he kept his distance and watched you closely.
Dean and Sam filled him in on what happened at the bank along with their theory that you might have a hell hound in you. At this Cas shook his head “It's not a hell hound. It is something different...”
Dean interrupted him “Then what is it? Is it dangerous? How do we get rid of it?”
Cas frowned “You can't get it out Dean. As for what it is, I'm not sure but I believe it's a beast of legend and yes it can be dangerous but it won't be, not unless it is told to or needs to be”
“What do you mean by that? If it's not dangerous why did it kill those robbers?” Sam questioned.
You watched him curiously for his answer, you weren't sure what was going on and you weren't sure what to believe. You never thought a person could shove their arm into you before, so you were completely stunned at this point and willing just to listen. Your curiosity often overtook the logical side of you.
“It killed them because they were posing a threat to her” Cas replied, motioning toward you. “It pushed me out just now, it gave me a warning. No one has seen a beast of legend before, they were around a long time ago and then just disappeared.” He cautiously got closer to you. “Do you mind if I look at your back really quick?” You frowned but nodded, not completely sure why you were going along with this.
Cas slowly lifted up your shirt, you shivered as he ran your fingers along the skin of your back. “Have you always had this?” he questioned.
You couldn't see what he was talking about, but going off where he was touching you had an idea and you nodded “Y-Yeah, It's my birthmark” you replied.
Cas sighed and put your shirt back down. “It's as I thought, this beast has been with you since you were born. Perhaps longer.”
You frowned “So, does this mean I'm a vessel or something? Like Naruto?”
Cas had no idea what a Naruto was but he shook his head. “No, you're not a vessel. At least not really. Your soul is connected to the beasts, it is tied with you. While it can come out, it cannot do so unless you give it permission or it feels your life is in danger and it needs to protect you.”
You nibbled softly on your bottom lip and nodded. You weren't really sure about everything he said, heck you weren't really sure about anything anymore. But one thing you knew for sure was that your life wasn't going to be the same as it use to be.
“If it was in her all this time, why did it come out now?” Sam questioned.
Cas shook his head “I don't know, it was believed that these beasts were around at the same time as the darkness...”
“So maybe the darkness coming made it come out?” Sam questioned.
Cas nodded “That is a possibility”
Dean had been quietly listening before, you felt his eyes narrow at you “So now what?” he questioned “What do you we do about this?”
Sam sighed “The best thing will be try and find out as much information as we can on the beasts, see what can be done” he turned toward you and gave you a sympathetic smile “Sorry Y/N, we will have to keep you here a little longer'
Well You thought this is great, first you find out you have some sort of beast inside you and now you'll have to remain here until who knows when.
