i don't know if this is of interest to anyone, but i've finally put together a rough timeline of some of the major events in the supernova universe!!

obviously this doesn't include everything, and all of it is subject to change, but this is the springboard i'm using now that i'm starting to get into the nitty-gritty worldbuilding

So how do Otnean's define their genders and sexualities (which is different from just their sexes and stuff)? Like I highly doubt they'd define that stuff like (Western White) human beings do, so I'm curious?

none of this is 100% set in stone, just thoughts i’ve been thinking

otneans have a sexual binary (gonochorism), though it’s completely separate from their gender

it’s hard to discuss without sitting down and figuring out otnean language (which…is not unappealing tbh), because otneans obviously don’t use the same pronouns as humans.

so, basically, otneans have a specific pronoun for children that’s regarded as neutral. once they come of age, they select their official “adult” pronouns.

how this relates to their gender, i'm not sure yet. there's a lot about otnean history and society that i need to plot out before i can start thinking about their relationship with gender and gender presentation.

in regards to sexuality/sexual orientation, it's both complicated and. . . not.

otneans differentiate between sex for fun and/or love and sex for reproduction. while they've been slowly moving away from it, otneans for a long time functioned on an "arranged marriage" sort of system, except instead of marriage it was strictly procreation.

in the past, parents would select a partner for their offspring—heavily researched to ensure an advantageous pairing—and the two would form a relationship centered around reproduction.

they were free to fall in love or have casual relationships at the same time because, culturally, they were regarded as being two entirely different things. it would be like having a friend and having a significant other, except you're trying to have kid with your friend.

unless, however, you were in a family of high social standing. they generally regarded any relationship not centered around reproducing as unnecessary and would often arrange a permanent union between the match.

regardless of social standing, it was extremely taboo to have children with someone who wasn't your selected partner, to the point that you could face exile or even execution depending on where you lived.

but, like i said, otneans have been moving away from such a strict system. it's no longer a social (or literal) death sentence to have children with someone who hasn't been "approved" as a match. there are still some families in power that are old-fashioned, but they're few and far between.

all of this to say, otneans experience sexual and/or romantic attraction on an individual basis rather than physical appearance adfjsdklfjs

I was reading the last chapter of Supernova’s backstory and man did I have a laugh because I was right at the end and went “I wonder if there's art on DJ’s design for this fic. Guess I'll have to ask the author on tumblr”

And then I scrolled a little further and there's the art. Like oh! That's what he looks like lmao. Wasn't expecting that

I dunno this was just funny to me. But anyway! Nice to see that Supernova has a happy ending but I am curious to know! Does he ever try figuring out how to handle taking care of kids again? Do Sun and Moon ever get the chance to see how nervous he's become around them? Sorry for the questions and my rambling. Hope you have a good rest of the day!

Yee! SuperNova did nothing wrong and got punished for it so he deserves a massive win. As for your questions~ :3

Since he has been reassigned to the West Arcade, a space meant for older audiences (at least 13+ in age), SuperNova wouldn't really have a reason to try to re-learn to take care of young children.

No. Sun and Moon aren't allowed outside of the daycare unless they are escorted by human staff or a Glamrock. And SuperNova is only allowed outside the West Arcade when the Pizzaplex is closed. So unless a young child snuck into the Pizzaplex after closing, Sun and Moon would never know that SuperNova no longer feels comfortable around kids under 13 years of age.

That is unless I decide to write a story based on the events of Security Breach and insert SuperNova into it.

Finally got chapter 5 of SuperNova's backstory written.

This is the last chapter before I officially mark the story as Explicit, so I hope you guys enjoyed the innocent fluff while it lasted. XD
