Title: Once Upon a Supernatural Time
Word Count: 6,792
Summary: Henry Mills needs help convincing his new-found mother, Emma Swan, to believe in magic so she can break Storybrooke’s curse. Could Dean and Sam Winchester be just the help he needs to get Emma to believe? Or will they also need some convincing? Dean’s dealt with a lot of things - demons, angels, witches, werewolves - but magic may be a bit out of his belief system.
Chapter 70: Resetting the Board
“What, you’re not going to fight with me? No clever nickname or violent threat to punch me in the face?”
“Nope,” Dean shook his head, continuing to follow Neal as he checked their surroundings again to make sure they weren’t being followed.
“Well, that’s refreshing.”
Dean breathed out a short laugh, “I’m not your enemy, Neal. And you’re not mine. We both want the same thing – to find Emma and Henry and their family and make sure they’re safe.”
“Good,” Neal responded, still a little suspicious, but Dean could tell his shoulders had loosened up slightly. “Because I—“
Dean stopped, holding up his hand for silence as if he’d heard something in the distance. When nothing else was heard, they continued forward, Dean one step behind Neal.
He kept waiting for Neal to continue with his thought, but when he didn’t, he decided to ask something he’d been curious about since he learned about this ridiculous place.
“So,” Dean started, still trying to keep his voice low as they went, “how exactly did you end up here before?”
Neal chuckled, “What, you didn’t get the chance to read my story in Henry’s book?”
Dean hummed sarcastically. “Um, no. Between the curses, dragon, Enchanted Forest trip, the devil, the apocalypse, losing my brother, flying to Manhattan find you, and oh yeah, literally flying to freakin’ Neverland – I didn’t get a chance to check out Henry’s story book,” he replied with a little bite in his voice. “I know the gist – mainly the stuff with your dad, but I must have missed the Neverland episode.”
“Fair point.”

So a couple of years ago I was reading an academic article somewhere about the Moving Spotlight theory of time and it brought up the concept of "supertime"
Now let me make it clear that
1) I find Moving Spotlight to be pointlessly complex and somewhat nonsensical, but also
2) I don't know enough about the world yet and I obviously fully respect whoever wrote about it
I'm getting sidetracked; I just made this silly little tumblr dot com post to say that I although I find the entire concept of a "supertime" needlessly overcomplicated in Moving Spotlight theory, I keep accidentally returning to it when it comes to time travel.
If you move faster, then you move faster through time relative to your (slower) surroundings. There's obviously (presumably) no absolute way to quantify your rate of passage through time in terms of "seconds per supersecond"; it's going to just be a ratio to compared to your surroundings. If anything, a supersecond would be an arbitrarily chosen reference frame with which to compare.
But could there such a thing as a sort of "temporal velocity" to measure how quickly you go through time compared to your surroundings and consequently other attributes like temporal forces, kinetic energy, etc? Under special relativity this is presumably all negated by rate of passage being inherently tied to velocity, and I haven't formally studied general relativity yet so I can't say anything about that. Just random thoughts about time.

Missing them 😢
Also missing the days when all I could talk about was a SPN/OUAT crossover; I was obsessed. I even made edits of the crossover ships. Those days are long over now *SIGH*
Is THIS what they call growing up?... I hate it. Thank you, Next 😂
