Title: Once Upon a Supernatural Time
Word Count: 6,792
Summary: Henry Mills needs help convincing his new-found mother, Emma Swan, to believe in magic so she can break Storybrooke’s curse. Could Dean and Sam Winchester be just the help he needs to get Emma to believe? Or will they also need some convincing? Dean’s dealt with a lot of things - demons, angels, witches, werewolves - but magic may be a bit out of his belief system.
Chapter 70: Resetting the Board
“What, you’re not going to fight with me? No clever nickname or violent threat to punch me in the face?”
“Nope,” Dean shook his head, continuing to follow Neal as he checked their surroundings again to make sure they weren’t being followed.
“Well, that’s refreshing.”
Dean breathed out a short laugh, “I’m not your enemy, Neal. And you’re not mine. We both want the same thing – to find Emma and Henry and their family and make sure they’re safe.”
“Good,” Neal responded, still a little suspicious, but Dean could tell his shoulders had loosened up slightly. “Because I—“
Dean stopped, holding up his hand for silence as if he’d heard something in the distance. When nothing else was heard, they continued forward, Dean one step behind Neal.
He kept waiting for Neal to continue with his thought, but when he didn’t, he decided to ask something he’d been curious about since he learned about this ridiculous place.
“So,” Dean started, still trying to keep his voice low as they went, “how exactly did you end up here before?”
Neal chuckled, “What, you didn’t get the chance to read my story in Henry’s book?”
Dean hummed sarcastically. “Um, no. Between the curses, dragon, Enchanted Forest trip, the devil, the apocalypse, losing my brother, flying to Manhattan find you, and oh yeah, literally flying to freakin’ Neverland – I didn’t get a chance to check out Henry’s story book,” he replied with a little bite in his voice. “I know the gist – mainly the stuff with your dad, but I must have missed the Neverland episode.”
“Fair point.”

Chapter 68: Finding Neverland
Tamara smiled as she began to look around, “We made it. Mission accomplished.”
“Are you sure about that?” Henry asked, shaking off from the cold ocean water. “’Cause my mom’s coming to get me. Both of them. And Dean, too. They’re all going to be coming for you”
Tamara scoffed. “Your wanna-be father is dead. I shot him myself.”
“You know who he is right?”
“As a matter of fact, I do. We’re hunters just like him. We’ve heard the stories.”
Henry smiled, “So then you know that death can’t stop Dean Winchester. And you should be scared.”
“You might want to take a look around, kid. You see any clock towers? You’re a long way from Storybrooke,” Greg replied.
“It doesn’t matter. My family’s been to the Enchanted Forest before, and they can get here again.”
The sound of foreign animal calls filled the night air as Tamara smiled. “Well, we’re not in the Enchanted Forest. This is Neverland.”

Chapter 67: The Truth
“Whatever they’re offering you, Hook, it’s not worth it.”
“Well, considering they’re offering to have me kill Rumplestilskin, I’d say it is.”
“So the guy killed your girlfriend like a hundred years ago. Isn’t it time to get over it?” Dean retorted crudely. He knew he was being cold with his comment, but he was angry with the pirate’s second betrayal and wanted to piss him off.
It worked.
Hook slammed his good hand against the table Regina was laying on and nearly growled as he glared at the hunter. Dean was expecting him to yell, to shout – but instead, his voice came out soft, injured almost as he squeezed his eyes together. “That wretched demon – he crushed the heart of the woman I loved. He took her from me – he took my happiness. You’re telling me you wouldn’t do the same, Dean? That you haven’t done the same?”
Dean swallowed hard.
A flash of people who’d been taken away from him flashed through his mind. His mother, his father, and now Sam. His whole family had been taken away from him. He thought of his father, who started a crusade in the name of revenge after losing his mother. Would Dean have done the same?
Emma’s face appeared in his mind at the question. He pictured her lying helpless in his arms as the life faded from her eyes – Dean shook his head, casting the vision away and slowing his heart at the anger and fear it ensued. He didn’t need to say it out loud, Hook knew the answer.
“And you actually trust Tamara and Greg?” Regina countered after watching the two men, scoffing when Hook didn’t answer. “You don’t even know who you’re working for.”

Chapter 65: The Game is On
“For the last time – it’s just Pongo… No, ma’am, it’s not a full moon tonight… If you’re so worried, just go ask Ruby, I’m sure she’s at the diner and will tell you… Yeah, okay… Bye.” Dean groaned loudly when he hung up the phone.
This was nothing like he’d thought it would be. He pretty much just sat and answered the phone while people bitched at you about some noise in their backyards. On the other hand, there were a lot of things about this job that were similar to hunting. Like the research, the stakeouts, investigation, and trying to solve the case. He’d spent most of the morning trying to track down Mendell, but even with the station’s resources it was difficult. Now he was just waiting for David to swing by and take over. His next move was going to be breaking into Mendell’s hotel room to search for any incriminating evidence.
He wasn’t entirely sure if that was legal now that he was sort of a man of the law… but he decided this wasn’t a real town anyway so he didn’t really care. Catching Mendell and keeping the people he cares about safe – that’s what he cared about. While he waited for David, he decided to grab one of the darts.
“You know, I’ve seen a sheriff station like this before on tv. In a town called Mayberry…”
The dart flew from Dean’s hand, but landed on the floor at the intruding voice.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to mess you up,” Tamara replied warmly, a friendly smile spreading across her lips.
And there it was again, that look. Like she recognized him. He decided to go for it, paranoia be damned. “Have we met before?” he asked, his head tilting as he wracked every last corner of his memory to put any recognition to her face.
Tamara smiled at that, but shook her head. “No,” she answered, walking farther into the station. “But I know who you are. You’re a legend in our line of work.”
