This is a weird one folks. As Borderlands 3 continues to be a magnet for controversy, YouTuber SupMatto has had his channel removed following a kerfuffle over leaked Borderlands 3 assets. 

It all kicked off when SupMatto revealed Take-Two had sent private investigators to his house, a move many considered a total overreach. Despite being more than willing to acquiesce to publisher pressure, SupMatto has completely disappeared off YouTube following a ton of copyright strikes.

2K Games and Take-Two Interactive maintain they're in the right, and legally protecting their "trade secrets" from SupMatto's leaks, but considering how accommodating the content creator seems to be, this is starting to look more than a little harsh. 

Borderlands 3 is making a lot of headlines this year, and not for the right reasons.

What's your opinion on the situation surrounding supmatto recently? Has it affected how you see Take2, 2K, or your hype for BL3?

First things first I’ll link this response to an ask about this situation, so check that first.

I’ll add that Take2 is the parent company to 2K, and that their actions should not be viewed as representative of the product that Gearbox has created.

I wish SupMatto / Matt all the best in moving forward with whatever he chooses to and that he gets to enjoy Borderlands 3 with the rest of us on release.

have you kept up with all the supmatto stuff that’s been happening?

First things first, I have about 2 or 3 of these in the inbox and I’ll just throw everything on this one. Also, I will try to keep this as concise as possible.

I was loosely aware of the events that took place with the “private” FL4K gameplay testing Twitch accounts although I never watched Matt’s video(s) on the matter. Following that I was aware that he seemed to be on some unannounced hiatus which anyone who took 2 minutes to scroll through any of his platforms could tell was unlike him.

I was made aware of his most recent video (Found at this link) thanks to some of you guys asking me about it. The whole thing is a bit of a shame and seems to have been handled poorly as we view the situation from Matt’s perspective.

I hope that come September he can pick up the game in good conscience and enjoy it with rest of the community as this game seems to be everything that most of us have wanted for the past 7 years.
