This is a special tile called the Supply Line that can be used in your town. When you move a resource into a Supply Line tile it costs 0 movement points. It's a great addition but you have to be extra cautious about spies!
Supply lines for everything are way more interlaced than is intuitive and suddenly I am watching people realize that in real time.

One way to keep your holiday costs down is holiday regifting of presents. When you have a multi-generational family this may make sense. Hol
Breastfeeding story
Wow we’re starting to realise just how many people have found breastfeeding challenging. We’ve been working with a lactation consultant to help our unique situation. We visited her in person twice, had a phone consult and regularly messaged. She referred us to some @ozbreastfeeding resources for further advice too.
Whilst Kian is a wonderful latcher, unfortunately my breasts are only producing a few mL per day. We didn’t want him to lose his latching abilities so every feed we used a fiddly supply line aka supplemental nursing system (SNS) to feed him formula or rationed donor breastmilk. We received donations from Human Milk 4 Human Babies Qld Facebook group by doing a donation request post @hm4hb. We also got some donations from friends including a heap from my sister’s sister-in-law. We’re going to do another post requesting on going donations until Kian is six months old. With at least 30mL per day, it’s enough to multiply micro flora in the gut. With a lined gut aka the second brain of the body, it will help the parasympathetic nervous system and lower stress responses for baby which is why this is important.
Delayed milk supply can occur because of; pain medication during labour, traumatic birth, caesarean or over 500mL blood loss. - all of these apply to us. This is referenced from Milk It by Chantelle Champs.
Low milk supply can occur because of; breast surgery, hormonal problems (including polysistic ovaries), mammary hypoplasia (insufficient glandular tissue IGT) and traumatic birth. - the last three of four of these apply to us. I did some further reading in a Facebook support group where I think the lack of periods due to PCOS and skipping some periods when on the pill (because the doctor said that was cool to do) means there hasn’t been enough progesterone hormone to develop receptors and this tissue during puberty. I asked my obstetrician if there’s any blood work I can do for testing for next time but she said there isn’t and to ‘let it go’.
Things we’ve tried include; Medela SNS, Haaka SNS, breast pumping (currently using @medela_au swing but apparently @spectrababy hospital grade is great), ensuring nipple stimulation between 12-6am, hand express, acupuncture, skin to skin, crying, water, fenugreek herbal tonic from a naturopath, fenugreek capsules, prescription domperidone drugs (motilium), chlorophyll (including parsley drinks) @qiaraprobiotics, oats, cinnamon, flaxseed, milo, raspberry leaf tea, brewer yeast milkshakes, Milk Pantry brownies, Franjo’s lactation cookies etc. from @milkandloveaus and I’m sure there’s more. I even took iron supplements later too in case my levels hadn’t been replenished.
The Haaka SNS was much better to use than the Medela one that the hospital gifted us. It was still a two person job though because I always had to use one hand to squeeze my breast for latch and the other to hold baby. This meant my partner had to hold the line in place and stop baby’s hand from knocking it out from the tape and his mouth.
At 5.5 weeks we decided to taper off using the SNS and switch to bottle feeding. This was just shy of our 6 week goal which was unable to be achieved since there were no signs of progress from the 3 week mark. My breasts were bruised and sore from the continuos pumping. My nipples were in pain too so I couldn’t cuddle my husband when I really needed a hug and it was also painful to hold baby against me. I feel relief that I can stop having such a big schedule of drugs and supplements and just get my body back to being normal.
From moving to bottle feed, we can now take shifts for feeding which gives us both much for time in the day. We’re conscious to take our tops off for the feed so that we can have skin to skin contact for bonding.
I made a hotdog today and tried to think about how many people worked to bring it to me and its like, conservatively over a hundred. i count like minimum 15 farms and maybe 20 different processing facilities, plus drivers. all for a hot dog. it was delicious and may God bless every single person who worked for it
