We happen to live on a route of a BLM protest. It was really moving to witness this event and see how many people came together to support such a worthy cause. Black lives and black futures matter. I wish I could have walked, but I have two children at home and one is in a cast. NY STRONG.🗽 My son, Marcello, took my breath away. He knew why they were protesting-like the real reason. How do you talk to a six year old about racism? Sometimes you don’t have to tell kids, they tell you. Children are the purest, most vulnerable. As parents, as leaders, we MUST teach them what is RIGHT. It’s not rocket science. Equality for all. You don’t have to dumb it down for children—they see color at first and question, but it is up to parents to remind that even though we are different, we are ALL the same. TEACH GOOD, AND THEIR FUTURES WILL BE BRIGHT. .... before this .... I felt like a bad mom today, because I had to take my younger son, Rocco, to urgent care because he hurt himself badly. And then my Marcello says this, and it was amazing. I kind of feel like my husband and I are doing a good job. . .
