I don't think we will ever teach the oh so fun and challenging PIVOT TURN to our students again without a big chuckle being reminded of the infamous FRIENDS episode where Ross and Chandler are attempting to carry the sofa up a staircase and it proving to be difficult ... How many of you go into and onto the water without even a thought about safety? This past weekend sup teacher training course was yet another reminder that while the turquoise waters look inviting, a calm sea in one moment can change, or a student falls off and hits their head or swallows water and starts to panic, the skills you need to teach sup yoga and Paddle board lessons comes with a big responsibility. What you learn and practice could mean the difference between saving someone's life or carrying the consequences of something going wrong and fast at that. CPR, water rescue techniques and knowing what to do in the case that something goes wrong with a student or client is such an imperative part of carrying a certificate as a sup yoga teacher. The water is our playground, but in a flash it can become a very dangerous and overwhelmingly serious life situation. Keep practicing, be prepared and hope for the best always, bless the water and your students before entering but having these skills will put the confidence in you to continue being a safe provider of water activities in your own floating studios you're all going off to start! I'm also ready to further continue my courses, as we must refresh ourselves with the skills! You never stop learning!
