I’m 25 and I watch anime. Does that sound immature and childish? Well obviously I don’t think it is, but I know damn well for a fact that my friends do. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care what they think of it but its more of the fact that they think so damn highly of themselves for not watching it is the thing that gets me. As if watching a cartoon series makes you less.. smart? We all read the news, get off your high horse.
For example, I suggest a Ghibli movie and they will swiftly and condescendingly dismiss the movie (because, “cartoon”) but will gladly accept a third rate Hollywood movie. I mean, what’s that about? So you can’t accept watching this movie because 1) it doesn’t have real life human actors in it and 2) it’s in a different language. Have you heard of this magical thing called subtitles, though? It helps with the translation.
(Okay, reign it in girl) I’m not finished.
Right, so you refuse to watch any form of animation because you’re an adult who only watches serious, deep, thought-provoking movies. That’s fine. But here’s the thing; you can enjoy your own thing but let other people enjoy theirs as well. Did you have to go out of your way to.. insult it? It’s part of who I am so when you insult it, you’re partly insulting me too.
Oh, I’m going there alright. Don’t call it being dramatic. If you are, again, get off your high horse you insufferable ass. The least you could do is not to be condescending.
