[MASON DYE, CISMALE, HE/HIM/HIS] who’s that? oh it’s {CHAD SURETTE}. I hear they’re {SEVENTEEN} and a {SENIOR} at {DALTON} and are part of {Warblers, Lacrosse (Captain), Rinky Dinks}. they’re known to be {CHEERFUL, RESPECTFUL} and {CHAOTIC, COWARDLY}. some people say they remind them of {cowboy boots and jeans, colorful bday party plates, barber shop quartets, pink polos, copious amounts of hair gel, baking cookies with an apron on}. only one way to find out! Even though they were both born and raised in Lima, current real estate agent Bobby Surette and his stay at home wife (idk let’s call her Linda…feels right) met while “studying” at BYU. They ended up getting married before they even graduated…and a couple of years down the line, Chad Surette was born.

Up until Chad’s freshman year, he and his family all lived in Texas. As such…Chad is a complete southern gentleman, country drawl and all. And yes…he loves country music and will defend it to the death.

Chad grew up in an aggressively mormon household with his parents, two older brothers, and two “baby” sisters. He realized from an early age that the life that his parents chose for them was one that wouldn’t make him very popular at school…so he committed himself to being a friendly face from an extremely young age. 

Being the softest boy of three meant that Chad was constantly bullied and berated by his brothers and father…all under the guise of trying to “put some hair on his chest”. Chad adopted a lovingly self-deprecating goofball persona to deal with all of this. 

Tragedy also struck for the Surette family when Chad was really young. His mother and uncle passed away in a boating accident while on a family vacation in Puerto Rico. Chad was only 13 when all of this went down…but because his older brothers were on their missions and his father didn’t have any other family to lean on…Chad stepped up as the second parent. The Surettes ended up moving to Lima to stay in Chad’s uncle’s mansion, which was gifted to them in his will. 

Chad was enrolled in Dalton in hopes that it would make him a more attractive candidate for colleges (but really so his dad could feel like he was crushing the single parent thing). Chad thrived in a private school environment. Years of singing soprano parts in his church’s choir prepared him to be a shoe-in for the warblers. Before long he climbed the ranks in Lacrosse to be Dalton’s captain…frankly based on the fact that he gave the most compelling pep talks and everyone enjoyed having “Chad Warbler” on the team. Still…a win in Bobby Surette’s book.

Chad is the type of person to put the needs of everyone around him before himself. So upon finding out that his father has been strapped for cash (i.e. gambling and alcohol addictions), he has decided to start working at Rinky Dinks. As well as throw a series of vivacious parties at the Surette estate. He knows it would crush his dad for their fake affluent reputation to be tanked so he does the best he can to keep up appearances. More so, he wants to make sure that if their upper-class suburban lifestyle comes crashing down…he can still keep his sisters from knowing any different.
