The Wytches | Wide at Midnight
The Wytches have a knack of sounding like all the best bits of every band you ever loved as a teenager and if this track was any more teenage it would have acne and a skateboard. Of course we’d all hate it if the Brighton based trio made anything too cheerful which is why this new single is so great. Sounding as doomy as ever, this new track Wide at Midnight is heaving with bitterness. Starting off moodily with a Radiohead circa Bends style intro, the track soon launches full throttle into the moody, thrashy surf garage that we know and love them for. As a live band they’re just as brilliant which is why anyone with half a brain will be going to catch them at one of their live dates across the country. Part of a double AA side along with track Robe for Juda, the single is released on Hatehatehate records on the 18th of November and is limited to just 500 copies so better get in there fast! Emma
