i've been meaning to write a bit about this but have been too doped up on painkillers to write anything cohesive... so here's what went down:

really weird being awake for the entire thing. they gave me an epidural and i was paralyzed within minutes

they put up a curtain so i couldn't see and began to operate... i was in constant communication with my surgeon asking exactly what was the extent of the damage

i was paralyzed for like 5 hours. it was awesome because i had no pain

holy shit when the epidural wore off. i think i was in more pain than when i initially ruptured it. couldn't sleep that night

48 hours later and i was basically pain-free, which was awesome

i'll be back in a boot in 2 weeks exactly

recovery time is going to be much quicker this time around

6:30 I went down to prep for surgery. I weighed in at 151.4 pounds and made sure he wrote that down for the Blog. 7:30 I was taken to the O.R. /This was the last time my folks saw me until 6:00 PM in the CTICU./ My folks waited all day in the O.R. waiting room 9:00 The nurse informed my parents they had started cutting into me.
