Running on the rails of the wind, alone and naked in the soul, poets can.
They caress the dawns of the world, the nations with red cheeks, the roofs of global villages.
They have that ruddy sun as their heart, for arms the hugs of children and they smell of the moon and sparkles of stars.
Only poets can fly:
they have giant wings and eyes like streams, the secular laughter wrapped in the cloak, the joy contained in the fairytale lamp.
And they know how to cry, moan, suffer, dressing in storms transforming roses into thorns.
They share tears with the sky, pain with volcanoes, tantrums with nettles.
They love beyond love, surpassing the mind and body of things and breathing on the souls of the
living to make them alive.
Nobody knows.
Because poets are not ordinary angels:
they are the very essence of galaxies, powder mixed with spring water, beginning and end of every feeling.
And if they live they die.
But if they die they live.
