Great day at Surrey County Show
Despite heavy rainfall, many thousands of people braved the weather to attend the Surrey County Show on Bank Holiday Monday 26th May. As almost an inch of rain fell across the showground, the Superfast Surrey stand welcomed a steady flow of visitors throughout the day.
The postcode checker was kept particularly busy as people took the opportunity to check when fibre broadband would be available. Many were delighted to discover they could already access a fibre broadband service, while others received the very latest news and updates from the team on the Superfast Surrey roll out for their home or business. Internet Service Providers (BT, Sky and Talk Talk) were also on hand to outline the benefits and choices of fibre broadband packages on offer.
Whilst the adults were busy talking to the team, the younger members of the family took advantage of the face painting and also meeting and having photos taken with Walter our Superfast Surrey Cockerel.
For those with a deeper interest in the technology, and the challenges involved in rolling out the fibre network across the county, the Openreach mobile showcase located adjacent to the Superfast Surrey stand was a must. The showcase offered a unique insight into how the new technology is being delivered and gave visitors the chance to see just what is behind the doors of those new green street cabinets.
Feathers flew as our charity challenge ‘Spot the Cockerel‘ competition posted some high scores on the day, boosted by the opportunity to win free fibre broadband for a year on offer from BT and Talk Talk.
Keep a look out for more news about the winners over the coming weeks and visit our picture gallery to see more from the day.
