Tell me about a fond childhood memory of yours

Gonna have to go with when my family and I drove from Florida to California the first time we moved there. Just three humans and an old kitty cat in a car driving for days. I don’t remember much of my childhood really, but 

Have you ever had a favorite character who was the polar opposite of you?

Not really. I tend to latch onto characters who have similar traits to me. They may have them more exaggerated or express them in different ways, but I am attracted to characters who I can identify with.

Anime/manga, books, or video games, and why?

Video games, the ability to effect the world adds to the immersion for me.

What is something that inspires you?

My friends. I love seeing my friends doing things that make them happy and that they are talented in. Seeing that only makes me want to do the same for them.

What is something that makes you a better person?

Probably my empathy. Even if I make botch trying to make someone feel better, I kind of take pride in my ability to understand other people’s emotions.

What is something that makes you feel brave?

Support. I am so much more likely to step out of my comfort zone if I know I have a fail safe in place for the worst case scenario.

What is something you couldn’t live without?

My phone. It’s so cliche but totally true. I’ve forgotten it and gone out for the day and felt so out of touch and lost. 

What is your favorite holiday, and what do you do to celebrate it?

Probably gonna go with Hanukkah for the memories I have of my grandparents. It’s not that we go all out with it for celebrating but there’s always a lot of really great food and marathons of Christmas movies. We never really go big on the Holidays in December because there’s Hanukkah, Christmas, my birthday and New Years usually within two weeks of each other.

I have my little Princess back with my parents. She’s my precious baby. She’s 13, diabetic, a stroke survivor and a total cuddle bug. She lost the ability to walk for a while but she taught herself how to do it again because she’s such a strong little kitty. I love her so much and cannot wait to see her again, whenever that may be. I’ll have to post a pic of her separately later. She’s adorable though.

Last time you cried: Gosh... I think the last time I cried was when I went abroad in the fall. I think it was a culmination of a lot of different feelings, including homesickness for one thing.

Made a new friend: Yep. Quite a few I think.

Fallen out of love: I don’t think I’ve ever been in love (in a romantic way) before, so I can’t say that I’ve ever fallen out of it, y’know?

Laughed until you cried: Haha, yeah. It’s an infrequent, embarrassing, and altogether wonderful experience.

Met someone who changed you: This may sound cheesy or even trite, but I think most people I meet change me in some way - some more than others, of course. I wrote a paper my sophomore year for a world religions class about the buddhist conception of the self, which basically teaches that there is no self, at least as most understand it. Rather, a person is just the intersection of many other people and experiences, like a section of a tapestry. Anyway, nearly everyone in my life - from my brother to the stranger I talked to on the metro today - has taught me something and shaped me into who I am.

Found out who your true friends are: Um... I don’t know? I rarely get into drama with my friends, so I’m not sure how to apply this.

Of course, helping the environment is helping people, but it’s not as direct or hands-on as say, counseling or something. Idk what I’m saying .-.

In
 yourself: I think so. Most days, anyway. But it’s certainly a work in progress. I could do a better job of believing myself capable of taking bigger goals and challenges. I think I’m somewhat hesitant to go about finding my limits, y’know?


Miracles: I definitely believe that fortunate or amazing events happen in spite of sheer odds. For instance, lone survivors of freak accidents, dogs finding their way home after missing for years, etc. No matter how statistically unlikely something is, if there’s even a fraction of a chance of success, then it’s still possible. So I accept that some miracles we hear about are just really wild math problems. But as far as miracles involving God or some supernatural element... that, I’m not so sure about. I don’t know that I’ve ever experienced a miracle, so I don’t really know what to believe.

Love at first sight: Only in the movies.

Heaven: This is a tricky one because I was raised protestant and attended a Christian school K-9, but on the other hand, I’ve been an agnostic since middle-school. See the problem? So I like the idea of heaven because it was part of my upbringing, it’s a nice/feel-good sorta thing, and I think part of me does want to believe that it’s real. But then, I’m very critical, and I wonder, “I mean, sure okay... but how?”
