…I didn’t know Leon and Hop are Laventon’s descendants oh my gosh. But I’m bad at this whole guess-the-descendant game ( it took me YEARS to figure out that Melli can’t be related to James and/or Jessie from team rocket).

ANYWAY this newfound knowledge brought me an immense amount of joy because in my mind something like this is now absolutely possible:

I didn’t intend to be gone for so long and I definitely didn’t expect that my absence would be noticed at all. The only reason I stopped posting was a wrist injury which really messed up my work for a while. But now I’m back, my dominant hand is still attached to my body and I can use it to draw silly requests just like I used to! In the meantime please have this Mew doodle 💛

Have you any interest in the new Legends game? I hope you haven't been spoiled if you're interested, but have not gotten to it yet.

Well. It only took me HALF A YEAR to answer. Oh my.

So I preordered the game, started my first play through the day it was released and spent a few very nice evenings playing and enjoying it more than I expected. And then my life decided it’s time for me to experience one of the worst nightmares of every illustrator. I badly injured my dominant hand while being right in the middle of an unusually big and time sensitive project. It was quite an interesting period of my life which I would love to forget to be honest.

But! Now my wrist is mostly healed, the scary big project is done and I was able to relax for a while and finish PLZA.

Here’s a few things I was able to draw back in October.

I was ecstatic when I realized I can add a mega alpha houndoom to my team. Sadly I’m no longer able to draw this pokemon normally because once upon a time I decided it would be fun to draw a houndoom based on a borzoi. Borzoidoom is inescapable now.

(I know for sure I’m not the only one who had this reaction)

Also my personal little challenge was to finish the game without fainting once (I’m laughably bad at this new battle system). This is how I failed it:

I eventually caught this gengar, nicknamed him Laventon and added him to my team as a punishment. Despite already having a ghost type.

Words can’t describe my love for mega froslass.

Currently my team looks like this. I won’t accept any criticism, it’s perfect.

(don’t worry about Alakazam he’s fine he’s used to be around ghost and dark types i promise)

And finally. When it comes to the legends games there’s a Volo tax that has to be paid.

Now I’m going to finish the dlc and beat Rayquaza with my perfectly balanced team.

I remember spending so much time playing Pokemon Platinum as a kid and enjoying it, but I just couldn’t beat Cynthia. This summer I got myself a copy of Shining Pearl to relive my childhood memories (the game wasn’t half as bad as I anticipated). I’ve yet to beat Cynthia :,)

I have a special place in my heart for all the friendly and hyperactive rivals. Barry, Hop, Nemona — all of them. And I think it’s Barry’s fault, he’s precious.

Your question is surprisingly hard for me to answer. I’ve been illustrating children’s books for almost a decade now and I’m constantly looking for new inspiration sources. Folk art of all sorts and kids’ drawings never fail to inspire me. Also it’s worth mentioning that everything I post here is far from being finished and it’s not a part of my style it’s just the lack of time to draw for myself 🥲

I also found this unfinished thing that features Beni AND my dear survey family. It’s almost a year old and I’m not sure what was the idea behind this comic. But Ingo is reunited with his brother (somehow), the clan leaders don’t have to argue over their beliefs anymore (they now argue for fun), the survey family didn’t change much (but got a little bigger). And Beni welcomes everyone and their Pokémon at the Wallflover (EXCEPT A GIANT CONSTANTLY HUNGRY SNORLAX).

I don't ship Prof. Laventon with Cyllene (I don't ship anything at all besides Rocketshipping, even when considering non-Pokémon media) but your surveyshipping art gives me so much happiness. I don't know what exactly it has but they're just so good together in your art. I dunno, it's like where I can only see the romantic attraction in other ship arts, yours evokes unconditional love, family-level bond and there's even a feeling I get that I can't put into words that they're just perfect together. And it all with your oil-pastel-like art and not only painting style, but character style and beautiful drawings in general... I wish there was a feature on tumblr where you select blogs you follow to have their posts reappearing in the dashboard frequently so I can remind me of how great your art is.

I’m horrible at expressing my emotions and the language barrier doesn’t help either, so I hope you’ll just believe me when I say that this message brought me so much joy!

And also some sweet nostalgia. All because I googled what does Rocketshipping mean out of curiosity. Turns out I myself used to be a hardcore shipper back when I was a kid. I was obsessed with the team Rocket trio and I was firmly convinced that Jessie and James are married. Meanwhile my best friend was equally obsessed with them but insisted they are siblings. At some point we ran out of arguments and resorted to violence. I lost a tooth in this fight, she got bitten, we both promised to hate each other forever (we’re friends to this day). And for the next week or so I wasn’t allowed to do outside without saying at lout “I promise not to bite my friends”’. Such a sweet childhood memory.

One google search almost 26 years later and now I can confidently say we were both WRONG.

After this little trip down the memory lane I just had to draw the trio (right after yet another hard landing).

I won’t even try to explain this. I just think that every cat in existence if had a chance would use every bad word known to humanity. And Meowth is a talking cat.

We’re happen to have the same comfort characters so I didn’t even need to doodle anything new I just dug into the bottomless folder with my unfinished sketches. To be honest at this point I can’t remember what was the idea behind some of them but I picked everything that falls into “Laventon is Akari’s dad now” category.

And what a difficult question you asked! I LOVE sword/shield games and it’s almost impossible for me to pick a favorite character. I love all the rivals, and Melony and Allister were the reason I picked the Shield version.

But Peony has a special place in my heart. There are so many things about him that make Peony my favorite character. He’s so goofy and enthusiastic and he also belongs to a very specific category of pokemon characters which I automatically like.

(I was a little annoyed with Peonia at first because GIRL do you realize that in the Pokemon universe a kid with a good loving father is a much rarer occurrence than a kid with a legendary on their team)

And there’s one more character I like. It’s Oleana and I have no explanation for why. She’s not the nicest person to put it mildly. Maybe I found her and Rose’s dynamic funny, maybe it’s because of the Twilight Wings episode. Or maybe AGAIN she’s just a part of a club I have a lot of sympathy for

Iscan is such a good simple guy with simple joys, such as fishing, saving puppies and other wardens and watching over a huge ghost type fish while being mortally afraid of ghosts. What a legend
