Survival Basics - Rules of Three (3):

Survival, at the most basic level, is staying alive despite circumstances. Those who want to improve their survival chances, must concentrate on the main factors of human survival. To help guide this thought methodology, there is the "Rule of Threes" regarding Air, Shelter, Water, Food and Hope. AIR - 3 minutes without fresh air can cause unconsciousness or death. Learn how to clean/filter air. SHELTER - 3 hours in extreme weather can kill -- Build a Shelter, start a fire (heat, cook, purify, boost morale) & make bedding to rest the body. WATER - 3 days without drinking water (32 ounces per day), dehydration sets in & organs shut down. Find, Collect and Filter Water. FOOD - 3 weeks without food, physical troubles set in -- Hunt, Fish or Gather Food HOPE - 3 months without hope reduces the will to go on. Do things to stay busy and build morale. Given these Rules of Three leads us to prepare for the Basics of Survival by learning the appropriate skills [first] and acquiring the appropriate tools and supplies.
