I can’t be the only one that sees it.
Finally - another example of a robe a la piemontaise (i.e., gown with a pleated panel stitched over a fitted anglaise-style back). According to the poster, the garment was altered some time during the 19th century. It also states how to secure the overskirt in a period polonaise.
