ozzy having a fatal flaw that ends in his demise every time he plays is sadly very compelling, almost shakespearean. Ozzy Lusth the Tragic Hero of survivor. doomed by the narrative. telling the same story over and over again. and he can never change the ending. the tribe has spoken
And like that, we are now at final seven! God this season feels so short (because it is, bring back the 39 days CBS!!!!!) I thought it would be fun to do winner rankings of everyone left in the game. (aka, we have finally reached the point in the season where my family no longer wants my survivor rants and my friends never wanted them to begin with) I'm going to go from no chance to most chance
7. Joe Hunter
First off, despite being incredibly biased by the fact I fucking hate Joe and could rant for paragraph of just my problems with him, I have a lot of actual reasons for him being last.
This man has no shot at winning, absolutely zero. He has done nothing all game but be a obstacle for everyone else - who is actually trying to play survivor - to work around. The only thing of note from him is the fight he had with Devens which is not good gameplay in the slightest. He hasn't had a single move this entire game. He just digs his heels into the ground until someone can make him change his mind or he gets left out.
On top of that, its very clear that no one respects him, and I don't think anyone would vote for him, even his allies. Cirie doesn't like him, Devens doesn't like him, Dee doesn't like him, Christan doesn't like him, Tiff Doesn't like him, Emily doesn't like him, Ozzy doesn't like him, Rizo doesn't like him. Even the people that stand him, theirs no lineup I see him getting their votes.
Though, just because I believe he has a less then zero chance of winning does not mean I don't think he is going to final tribal council. That man is the perfect goat to drag to the finals, because anyone else wins against him.
Besides everything I have already said, Joe is the only one with a edit that makes it very clear he can not be the winner. The only times we hear from or about him is him being A). bitchy, B). annoying, C). preaching honor and integrity (usually in response to something else someone did), or D). all and the above. I know some winners have had some less then stellar edits (a key example being Natalie White, who got pretty screwed by editing in favor of the creature that is Russel Hantz) but none have ever been this bad, just like I doubt their is a winner who is any more undeserving of their win then Joe would be, especially with such shit gameplay on a season like season 50.
I would even take it a step further and say he doesn't deserve to be on 50. Their are so many amazing players who got cut and instead we got... Joe... Even if they wanted another player from 48 (which I don't know why we needed three, they already cast the best two best players from 48) they should have gotten Eva (the only reason Joe was remotely bearable on 48) or Mitch. Both much better players and way more deserving. Or if they want to lean into a past rivalry invite back Racheal, she is a great player - one of the best new era winner - and her and Genevie were rivals on their seasons.
6. Jonathan
I don't dislike Jonathan, despite being very pissed her single handedly took out my queen and (realistic) winner pick - Kamilla (though I suppose she truly was more screwed by this seasons god awful split twists but I need a flesh punching bag for her vote off and its name is Jonathan), I just don't really see him winning. He hasn't been playing bad, I just feel other people have been playing better. I could see him maybe pulling off a win if its him, Joe, and Devens and maybe him, Joe, Tiff but those would be very close for him. I don't know, I just can't see him pulling it off when it comes down to it. Who knows, maybe he will surprise me.
5. Rick Devens
I love Devens, he is such a fun time and he is truly a joy whenever he is on my screen. I just worry that the major factor that makes him such a time will cost him the win.
Devens is a very messy player, and I could see the jury not respecting that. Plus, to a much lesser extent, he has a lot of enemies on the jury. The honor and integrity crowd is not a very big fan of him by any means, and probably won't want to "reward" the type of game he plays. On the other hand, Rick is a good talker, I could see him being able to sway people at final tribal council. My biggest worry is him getting to final tribal.
Rick has a big target on him, Joe and Jonathan (to a extent) have it out for his blood. Having used his idol and lost a major ally in Emily and a solid enough number in Ozzy, things aren't looking the best for him. Though if their is anyone who has tricks up their sleeves, its Rick Devens.
4. Cirie
It pains me to put her here and not at number one, but I honestly just don't know how well her chances are to get to final tribal.
Cirie has played the best game of anyone this season, she is a living legend, she is the best survivor player to never win, she is a social mastermind like none other (she is also a player I will forever put on my survivor mount Rushmore... sorry Boston rob, your a icon but she is just better). If she makes it to those final three seats, she will win even if she fell asleep during final tribal.
The only downside is that everyone knows this, everyone knows they stand no chance against her. They aren't going to make getting to those final three chairs easy, she is going to have to pull some crazy tricks to do it. She would honestly probably have to (to secure secure it) go on some crazy immunity run or find a idol to make it, to things I just don't think she can pull off.
It doesn't help that she just lost Ozzy, her #1 and the only dumbass I could see taking her to the end, which really puts her between a rock and a hard place even more so.
As much as I would love nothing more then Cirie to officially get her win (and become objectively one of the greatest winners of all time), I just don't think everyone else is going to let her pull it off.
3. Tiff
Tiff has been playing a very good game. She is a good competitor, a good strategist, and a very under the radar threat. I think Tiff definitely as a good shot at pulling this out unless someone (Money would probs be on the two people above her, or maybe even Cirie) clocks it and makes a major move against her. Other then that I think Tiff stands a decent chance against anyone (but, of course, Cirie) and she is smart enough to set herself up with the best chance.
2. Aubry
I love Aubry a lot, and she is my realistic winner pick. She is a great player, is very smart and perspective and excels at playing through the cracks. This has especially been highlighted as the numbers have dwindled.
I'm just worried about her getting all of the jury votes she needs in certain final three lineups, and that the jury will see just how smart her game was.
I'm not the most worried about her making final three, I think she stands a very good chance of getting their, its just the jury that scares me a bit for her (though from what I can tell they all seem to respect Aubry enough)!
1. Rizo
Rizo is probably one of the best new era strategist, and it is showing very clearly this season. He was pretty good on 49, but man is he killing it on 50.
He has great reads, makes great plays to go along with that, is very charming and well spoken, and overall just a great player (even though I think he has the worst odds of winning of challenge out of anyone left, as that poor frail little pale boy fucking sucksssss at challenges, but he really doesn't need to be good at them).
Rizo doesn't have any enemies of the jury except maybe Ozzy? I could see him being taken to the end and I could see him winning over the jury with ease.
Overall, I believe he truly has the best chance of winning this season (a opinion I really didn't think I would have at the start of the season, but here we are) even though I have to say I'm personally rooting for Aubrey (my realistic hope) and Cirie (my delulu hope), but I definitely believe that Rizo is playing the (2nd) best game out their and deserves the win a lot.
anyways, that's my extremely long ramble on survivor 50. Overall, I think the season has been really good despite some of the shitty twist and heart crushing boots of a few players I was really hoping would make it farther (cough cough Kamilla, Savannah, Dee, cough, cough). It has been very entertaining and I feel a pretty good representation of survivor
Unless Joe wins then this season can burn in hell!
