Honestly, with this heat, I am rather happy I was able to save a couple of bathing suits from that raid the Island did and gave us a few extra clothes. Thankfully, Evie isn't as prudish as some of the men around here.

I understand that some people might not exactly agree with the way I decide to lead things around here, but it's not like it's mandatory to stay here, I was the one who chosen to lead to our people and if it were not for me, things wouldn't be the way they are, if you wish to challenge that, please, feel free to let me know instead of whispering about it as I walk by then smiling at me when I turn to speak with you.
There has been a trail of children following me around all day, I am not sure if they think I am there mother or something, which is honestly impossible because three of them are super pale white with blonde or red hair and, uh, hello, look at me, they might not be my children, but they are now, my maternal instincts are kicking in.
My garden is coming along nicely this year, it looks like things are just growing in better and better, I have enough herbs to make all different types of remedies for sicknesses, I am gonna have to stock pile before end of Summer.
Apparently I have gotten the kitchen staff to like me, they've finally let me in and poke around all the things they have, and now I get to spend today helping out, color me excited.
he wanted different clothes. the grey jumpsuit only made him feel like a prisoner, or someone stripped from their identity. technically, he had been stripped from his identity, and the jumpsuit wasn’t exactly helping. stumbling into an open shop wasn’t the most surprising thing for hotel that day. finding the store empty and dark also wasn’t surprising. considering the day he’d had so far (consisting of a mere one hour and twenty-three minutes, he’d been counting), nothing could surprise him anymore. he found clothes quickly, but once he actually had them in his hands, he felt hesitant about changing.
maybe he was supposed to have on the jumpsuit. was it a rule that whoever’d put him here had made? would something bad come to him if he took off the jumpsuit? he stood in front of a clothing rack, which was in front of a mirror and he looked up at his reflection. his face was tired and the stitched word on the jumpsuit over his heart seemed to pop out at him. he should keep on the jumpsuit, hotel was probably the way he was going to be identified.
he looked down at the clothes in his hand he’d gathered, and then decided to pack them up. he’d keep the jumpsuit on for now, for safety — but he’d change as soon as there was a sign. “i’m following made up rules by nobody. that’s normal.” he sighed to himself as he walked out of the store onto the street, like he was just out on the town shopping.
“You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor.”
Charlie said in a low tone of voice, raising his head as he was once again greeted with unfamiliar surroundings. Prayer was his only outlet at the moment, and several hours of deep meditation for prayers of strength and safety through whatever was going on.
He was completely empitied of any memories past the time he’d been awake, but his faith was kept in tact. Charlie knew that God was watching and retained his extensive knowledge of the bible along with his devotion and loyalty. It was a miracle, a sign he called it that his religion was the one thing kept in tact.
Though he wasn’t paying attention behind him, Charlie could hear the footsteps moving across the ground. His sense of hearing even the slightlest movements must have came from being able to focus so well through meditation and prayer. Without turning around, he acknowledge the presence of the person behind him.
“I know you’re there. You can come out, I don’t bite.” He kept his head down in his hands, the cross that was on his neck in hand.
How long has this place even been here? And do you often bring in strays who were just trying to sleep?
