The life of a sushi apprentice is not glamorous
Hi, my readers,
Above is a short video about sushi maker apprenticeship in Japan to become a sushi master. Sushi maker apprentice is dedicating himself to become a sushi master for a lifetime, learning from a sushi master, his senior, for about 10 years before embarking on a journey to become a sushi master himself.
I love apprenticeship culture in Japan. These days, people just want to get ahead of everybody else, the younger as a millionaire the better, even if it means trampling and stabbing people in the back to get to the top. I love how these Japanese are dedicating themselves to a vocation, and learn from their seniors from the ground up. They’re not trying to get ahead of everybody else, especially their seniors, and respect their seniors.
If there’s anything I'd like to change about the world today, it is how pop culture is trying to get ahead of everybody else. Please think about apprenticeship is truly an inspiring thing, and everybody can learn from it. If everybody in the world start apprenticing, I’m sure the world will change to become a better place for many generations to come if not forever.
