12/20 - SYDNEY FISH MARKET First stop of my 48 hours in Australia's most iconic city had to be the Sydney Fish Market. I LOVE seafood. I might give up all terrestrial meat if I had unlimited waterfalls of salmon, squid, prawns, and scallops. I started by wandering around and marvelling at it all, and then started with the $3 Oyster Bar at Doyle's. The man there explained the regional flavour differences between them, and then suggested which to try and opened them right there for me. Oysters are... salty. Slimy. Goopy. But not wholly unpleasant! They also have a sweet and creamy aftertaste. I learned I prefer Pacific ones! My oyster guru also told me where to get the best sushi at the fish market and BY GOD he was right! The Fish Market Café is famous for their beautiful sushi donuts, and damn. Damn. Not only is their food beautiful but fresh and flavorful too. I had a sushi taco, sushi donut, and one piece of a roll.
