seeing murphy hanging from that tree broke beth’s heart. she was sure that she was going to lose him. sure she was going to lose him for something he didn’t even do, something that he couldn’t possibly do because they had been together when it had happened. but it all happened so fast, one minute beth was with murphy and then the next, she was pushed aside as clarke was confronting him over wells’s death. 

she tried to call out, tried to tell them that it wasn’t him but the words wouldn’t come out and everyone else was shouting over her and then he was being tied up. she was a mess, tears streaming down her face as she screamed at them to stop but she was just one voice against the many and someone was holding her back so she couldn’t run over and help him. 

so when the young girl spoke up and confessed, she sighed with relief. she wasn’t going to lose him. she pushed the arms that were stopping her off and started towards him, reaching his side just clarke cut the rope and catching him in her arms and falling back against the tree, stroking his hair as she whispered ‘ you’re going to be okay ’ over and over again.

she was quickly pulled away again by clarke, she tried to fight it but they needed to get him to the medical tent as soon as possible so she let them take him away, let clarke take him because he was going to be okay. he wasn’t going anywhere and as soon as clarke said it was okay to be with him, she was entering the tent as fast as she could, running to his side once again.
