3. If they complimented each other, what would they say?
to anyone else, varrics compliments stray on the side of waxing poetic. its the same as hawke - he makes them seem larger than life. when it’s just them though, he tends to find himself a little lost for eloquence. ‘beautiful’ is his favourite, as both a pet name and a descriptor
luca always comes to his sense for people first. they love to tell him that he’s clever, that he’s handsome, that he’s very good with has hands. but to anyone else it’s always about how he seems to always know what they want or need. intuitive.
11. What causes them to fight?
luca’s insistence on involving themselves so deeply in causes. he loves them for their passion but hates how much danger it puts them in, how other people use it against them. luca gives away so much of themselves to every fight and campaign he sometimes wonders if theres anything left for him, for themselves. on the other side luca doesn’t understand how varric doesn’t care. granted he has no direct stakes in these things (mage rights, slavery, xenophobia within the chantry etc.) but the people around him do, so why is he content to do the bare minimum? one gives too much and the other not enough, and they never quite agree on a balance.
20. What is a promise they have made to each other?
to live. to come crawling back, however beaten and broken. to live, so they can grow old and decrepit together in a nice house (preferably with a tavern in walking distance) and enough room for cats and dogs and whatever, whoever else.
