Sussur Greatsword

Sussur greatsword my beloved. It would be impossible to cut anything with a sword like that but I’ll ignore this because the design is cool. Also Underdark is my favourite realm in dnd so anything to do with it get’s to be as weird and dysfunctional as it wants.

This is how my BG3 paladin Ulhsaufein looked near the end of act 1. I tried to make him as good loking as I could in an unmodded game, which was a bit challenging at times.

Gloves do not have a leathery underside, but there was quite enough shiny armour showing already, so I changed them. I made this a couple of months ago and I can’t remember why the gloves are golden?

I also tried a new way of painting details of the armour, as there is a lot of it on basic plate mail. So much so that it could have gotten completely overwhelming to render.

I wish BG3 had sussur heavy armour too, because I like the weird alien design of the weapons and would have liked to see more of it. Or just more Underdark themed stuff as it was my favourite part of the game. I loved the athmosphere and the environment.

I commissioned @jacknorisk (also over on Twitter) to draw Venali for my birthday this year and LOOOOOOOK. At how incredible she looks!!!

Jack did an absolutely amazing job and really brought her to life with this piece. I love this pose especially because of Ven’s negative relationship with her magic and her complicated feelings about the sussur bloom. She wants to be at ease with the feeling of her magic being gone, revel in it, but she knows in the long run that indulging in it would hold her back.

Absolutely stunning work, I’m going to stare it it forever 🥹🥹💖💖
