In their defense, Dai Atlas and Wing had done their best with the young former Decepticon sympathizer. Sending him to Earth had been something of a last ditch effort- working with organics and witnessing a team working well with one another, away from the distractions of the Crystal City, seemed like it may have done him some good.

However, they had not anticipated that the dusty little planet would be full of a lot more distractions... and bots a little closer to Drift’s age who were just as eager to get out and stretch their tires as he was.

And it certainly didn’t help that Drift remained, to the core of him, far more rebellious than they could break. And right now, he was grinning at Bumblebee, sharp fangs easily visible.

“Of course they won’t! Fast as we are? They won’t even notice we were gone.”

One tackle. Two tackle. Oh yeah her kids are back at it again with hugging Cee. We love to see it.

     ✾    ─    With such a deep focus, she doesn’t hear the twins - realizing their presence after she is down on the ground. First one, then another. She groans, and growls - but quickly, the femme tries to wrestle her way - to wrap her arms around their necks, one for each - to pull them close in a tight HUG! 

      ❝ You rascals! Where have you been?! Skipping Ratchet’s classes? Huh? ❞ She presses her forehead on top of each - tightly, while her embrace tightens. Clearly happy to see the young trouble makers safe. Fighters or not, she wants them to live in a proper home, and enjoy life of a young mechanisms. || @sutanaito

He wasn’t upset, necessarily, to leave the monastery. Wing had, of course, made an attempt to convince Dai Atlas to let him stay... but it appeared that wasn’t going to be his luck. No, the leader of the Circle of Light saw it fit instead to see the young knight elsewhere.

And today was introduction day.

While standing anxiously, waiting for his moment of being shown and named and judged, he couldn’t help but notice... someone else nearby. Blinking at the small creature, he crouched, audial flares perking up.

“...what are you supposed to be? You don’t look Cybertronian.”

He had never been good at saying goodbye.

Time and time again in his life, he’d found himself simply unable to get those words out. It felt too hard, and too final. Which is exactly why he’s slipped the letter to Bumblebee as he’s heading out to the Lost Light’s landing pad.

There’s only so much to do when one only has so much time left.

I’m sorry. You probably won’t read this til later; I know you’re pretty slagged off at me, which makes sense right now, and I get it. I understand. I wasn’t supposed to go- only doctor who saved the life of every Prime since Nominus, best surgeon in a generation, blah blah blah all empty platitudes really. I’m no greater than anyone else; I just work myself half to death to prove a point.

And death, or the looming spectre of it, has a way of making you rethink your priorities. Rethink how you want to view the end of your life... and how you actually want to die, and be remembered.

Anyway, this is getting off topic. You deserve more than an old mech just rambling on like this. You deserve someone at your back who isn’t exhausted and weak and on the brink of losing everything that kept him moving forward in the first place.

You don’t need the cane. You can do this. I may not believe in god or fate, but I know you’re one hell of a strong kid.

Stronger than me by bounds.

Please take care of yourself. It may be the end of the line for me, but you have so much left ahead of you. I’m so sorry I couldn’t tell you this in person, but I’ve always been shite at this.

    ✾    ─   At times, being the guardian for two wild jets tested the limits of her patience. She had only two wheels but two pairs of jet engines to catch up. Often too slow to stop them from doing something she would have to lecture them later. But it is part of every bots’ cycle. Struggling at the verge of finding their place, all the curiosities and possibilities now before them. It wasn’t like that for her, but she could see the challenge of open doors too. 

They are so different to Jack, who for his age is far calmer and responsibilities-first type. 

Trouble-makers or not. They are good bots.

With a shrug, she sighs, smiling so warmly.

He’s had little peace since the war ended. He may have heard Rodimus’s missive, a call for people to join him on his quest. He’d made the decision when he’d heard the young mech just discussing it, let alone the actual call to arms as it were.

Bumblebee did not agree, of course. And part of him felt miserable for that. He sat quietly, adjusting an actuator in his wrist, willing his fingers to move. There was no sensation- no feeling left there.

The only reason he realizes Bumblebee has taken his hand at all is that he watches him do it.

“It’s really nothing. The cold, I think- this building’s an icebox, and I’m old.” Thank goodness his fingers cooperate for once, curling around the minibot’s as he gives a quiet sigh. There’s nothing he wishes for more right now than the ability to feel back. “You look good, you know. I know you’re rattled, we all are, but... you do look good, all things considered.”

         Oh.  oh that is not cool !  that was BEYOND not cool !!

         Just because Swindle had something bad happen to him, doesn’t mean he gets to take it out on the staff !  Killjoy certainly thinks so, with gritted denta & servos gripping tightly onto the mech’s hand.  while certainly not as physically strong as some bots, the minicon has a sliver of hope that the violet-eyed mech will come to his sense before she has to calm him down herself & add to his injuries. 

   ❝ that does sound terrible, buddy.  but, hey, at least you made it out with your spark in tact, yeah ? ❞

         Cutthroat, on the other hand, is taking a more sympathetic approach to the ordeal.  the minicon in the opposite servo is offering compassionate pats against Swindle’s own ; a softened tone, not laced with pity, but a gentle concern for the Decepticon  --  they are, of course, careful of the sparking servo.  they’re not an idiot. 

   ❝ but uh, you should really put us down... the servo you’re holding me with looks like it’s about to fall off. ❞

"Does it not be looking cool!? I ripped it out from a decepticon vehicle mode!" The orange twin is pretty much proud of himself while the blue twin is also looking excited. "Nothing Clif jumper sir I threw the decepticon at the wall!"

It's the roughest thing anybody could ask for, twins without supervision.

Cliffjumper had worried about the pair.

Well, scratch that. He still worries about them. But at least they’re here, and he genuinely appreciates that. And appreciates that apparently, they’ve picked up a few more tricks than he anticipated. Despite himself, he gives a bright laugh, planting his fists on his hip plating as he leans forward with a grin.

“Now that’s quite a trophy, young mech. You two sound like you had a heck of a time out there bashin’ ‘cons.”

Lifting one of his big fists for a fist bump each, he does at least tip his head towards them, making sure he’s looking as stern as he possibly can- which, to be fair, isn’t terribly stern at all.

“Now you two gotta be careful doin’ this kinda thing. Cons travel in packs, most times. That’s how I got so banged up.”
