Gardens in Their Seasons, A Nature Book for Boys and Girls by C. Von Wyss, 1912
Published in 1906 by A. &C. Black, Surrey is a beautiful guide book illustrated by Harold Sutton Palmer (1854-1933) and described by A.R. Hope Moncrieff (d.1927). Moncrieff regularly wrote travel guides or “Black’s Guides” for A. & C. Black. Black’s Guides were produced as early as 1839 and written in an informal style. At the turn of the century Sutton Palmer began illustrating guide books for A. & C. Black.
Sutton Palmer traveled widely throughout the English countryside and specialized in rural landscape painting. His exquisite watercolors elevate Surrey from a pedestrian travel guide to a work of art in itself. Moncrieff correctly noted that his prose serves only to compliment Sutton Palmer’s landscapes and that the true focus of this book is the natural beauty of Surrey.

Spotted: sutton and jonah but also jonah and clara but what about jackson now? Drama
From what I’ve been hearing Jonah is leaning towards Clara more than Sutton, I guess this leaves Jackson as the consolation prize.

Jackson had been out walking Wanda all day, by the time he began walking back to the apartment he shared with Sutton, he was exhausted. The small dog itself was asleep in Jackson's arms after tiring herself out and he had been carrying her all the way back from the park. Fishing his keys out of his pocket, Jackson smiled at the doorman before making his way up to the apartment and unlocking the door. After walking in, Jackson kicked the door shut and proceeded to make his way through to his room to place Wanda down on his bed before going out to the kitchen.
The kitchen always seemed to be a bit messy but it was never messy enough to complain about, it always had the coffee cups left out from the morning or plates out which needed to be brushed off. Jackson smiled and began to make himself a coffee before pausing and taking another mug out and filling that up as well. Picking up the two mugs, he placed one down on the table before walking through to Sutton's room, the blonde herself was sprawled out on the bed. "Hey, Suts" Jackson said, nudging Sutton and collapsing down on the bed beside her. "C'mon I made you coffee, stop sulking"
sutton-palmer replied to your post: You said we need to sort some things out. Can we take Wanda on a walk?
But I kinda wanna sort it out. Fifteen minutes? My time to look after her.
We played fetch for fifteen minutes, you know how easily she and I are entertained by a tennis ball.

When Sutton said that she wanted to go out for dinner, Jackson was a bit skeptical about whether it'd be a good idea but when along with it anyway, reserving a table in a half fancy restaurant for the two of them, daring Sutton to wear a dress. He felt slightly bad when he dared her to wear a dress so he dressed up in a button up shirt, a pair of jeans and a blazer, just so she didn't feel so out of her comfort zone. When he first saw Sutton in the dress, his jaw fell slack but he smiled just as easily and then took them to the restaurant.
After paying for the meal, the two of them finished their drinks and stood up to leave. He smiled at the girl when they left the restaurant and hung his blazer over her shoulders when the cold wind hit them. "Y'know, this was really nice" Jackson said, turning to Sutton and smiling. "Thanks for half forcing me to come out"
