I'll gush at you about Oddworld! Many fans grew up playing the games. I wasn't allowed video games as a child. I played the demo of Abe's Oddysee with my cousins when I was 5 and a half. I didn't understand what a slave was, but I understood what Abe had discovered and that he was trying to escape and rescue his friends. I was afraid of him at first, until he started talking. Then I loved to listen to him speak, and I hassled my cousins to press the 'Hello' button so I could reply to him, over and over. I must have driven them nuts, but that was how we discovered the first Mudokon worker hiding in the shadows. I was full of pride to have 'helped'.
I underwent quite an emotional journey that afternoon. When we first booted up the game, I was scared of everything in it, including Abe himself. By the time my aunt called us down to supper, I felt like I'd made a friend. A cute little alien buddy - who talked to me! Having found the game again on YouTube, I was able to watch it being played all the way through, and I learned about the sequels, the quintology, the lore, and the initial downfall at the hands of Microsoft. And I mourned. And then New 'N' Tasty came out, and I dared to hope they'd have another go. And Soulstorm is exactly what I wanted out of an Oddworld story. Watching it being played makes me feel five years old again; bewildered and excited and invested in Abe's quest. The only difference now is that I truly understand.

Oddworld has had such a massive influence on me since a young age! Me and my brother played Munch’s Oddysee together, him mostly because I wasn’t very good at it. Growing up, whenever I’d hear the sound of Munch hopping, I’d run into the playroom to watch him play. We never actually finished the game, being 4 and 6 years old, the later levels were a bit much for us, but I rediscovered Oddworld 5 years ago and became deeply invested in the story and lore. I played New N Tasty, then Munch’s Oddysee, then Stranger’s Wrath (and part of Abe’s Exoddus, but got stuck due to a bug), and now we have OWI’s first new game in 16 years and it’s everything I wanted it to be.
I’m thrilled by Soulstorm. I love that it’s leaning into the darker stuff, because Oddworld has always been dark, but now there’s even more emotional weight to the story. Every time there’s a cutscene I want to point at Abe and go “Look at him! Look at him!!!!!!!!” I’ve never seen such a range of emotion from my boy and I am delighted by it.

Hello again! I’m the person who commented on your Cat Genetics video about my funny White Tigers in Petz 5. My tigers are long gone about four laptops back (LOL), but I did manage to find an image that is similar to what they looked like. I don’t think this is a TabbyXCalico - it looks similar to one of the longhaired breeds in the game, but the general idea is the same - white base with the tabby stripes layered on top, and look! A cameo!
For some strange reason (likely to do with a limited colour palette, but they did have black and dark grey cats so 🤷♀️) the tabbies in Petz 5 always had brown stripes, not black ones, so they were all chocolate tabbies. Which I suppose would make the tigers ‘chocolate silver tabbies’?
I can see why Inhibitor is a fav for you. What gorgeous patterns it creates!
