don't look at me like that
(Anon for the sick fic request here) How about some Gibson and Suupa? I haven't seen that in a little while here.
Suupa, huh? That’s a first, I like that idea. :)
The monkey team led the frog team down towards the main lobby of the Super Robot. They all faced each other and the frog team took a look around at the interior. “I’ll give you all some time to rest here,” Antauri said. “I’m sure you’re all tired after your travels. Later tonight, I would like to invite you all to a meal and a small tour of Shuggazoom City.”
“Thanks, Antauri,” Frog Chiro said. “I’d like that. I’m going to get out of the Super Robot for a little bit. Anyone can come with me if they want.”
Many of the frogs nodded their heads and began to follow Frog Chiro. Chiro, Jinmay, Otto, and Nova decided to go along with them.
However, the blue frog, Suupa, decided to stick around. He quickly approached Sparx and said, “Hey, do you know where Gibson is? I thought he would be with all of you when we got here.”
“Gibson’s down with some kind of flu,” Sparx responded. “He has a pretty high fever, so he’s been up in his room for the past couple of days. He was upset that he couldn’t be with you guys.”
“Hm... I’m sorry to hear that,” Suupa said. “Do you think I can see him?”
Sparx shrugged his shoulders. “Be my guest. Don’t blame me if you catch whatever he has, though.” Sparx pointed down the hallway. “You’ll find Gibson’s room down that way. It has his name on the door.”
“Thanks,” Suupa said as he walked down the hallway. He stared at the many doors, seeing Otto’s, then Sparx’s, then finally Gibson’s. Suupa stopped in front of the door before lightly knocking on it a few times. He waited patiently for Gibson’s response, then smiled when the door finally opened. He saw the blue simian peek from the other side.
Gibson then fully opened the door, faintly smiling when he saw Suupa. “Suupa, what a pleasure to see you. I’d shake your hand, but... I think it’d be for the best if I didn’t.”
Suupa shook his head. “That’s alright, Gibson. How are you feeling?”
Gibson groaned. “My medicine has yet to kick in. It’s awful... my lack of energy. This heat. How am I supposed to get work done like this?”
“You’re sick. I think the point is for you not to work. May I come in?”
Gibson blinked. “Why yes, of course you can.” Gibson stepped to the side, allowing Suupa enough room to enter. “Though I’m surprised you’d rather spend your time with me when you could be chatting with the rest of the Hyperforce.”
“They don’t quite understand me like you do, Gibson,” Suupa said as he entered and took a look around at Gibson’s tidy room. “Being the only genius in the room can feel a little lonely.”
“Oh, don’t discount everyone’s intellect just because they’re not scientists like us,” Gibson said as he wandered back to his bed. As he sat down, he let out a large sneeze. He groaned. “But... I suppose I know how you feel.”
“Right...” Suupa said, agreeing with Gibson’s thoughts. He watched Gibson’s movements. Gibson sneezed a few more times and let out light breaths as he swayed back and forth. Suupa could tell how weak Gibson was from his flu. “Is there anything I can get you, Gibson? You look like you’re about to pass out.”
“Oh, nonsense,” Gibson said. “You mustn’t burden yourself over me, Suupa. My needs are met for right now. I’m a perfectly capable...” Gibson took a deep breath before slowly lying on his bed. “Perfectly capable... capable medic. C-can I have my water, please? Over on my desk.”
Suupa nodded his head before grabbing the large glass full of water on Gibson’s desk before handing it to him. He sat down on the bed next to Gibson. “You don’t sound perfectly capable to me. I’m the doctor on my team too, you know. It’s a coincidence that we have that in common. I have a few remedies that will make you feel better.”
“No, thank you. I’ve done enough for myself.”
Suupa rolled his eyes. “Okay, I guess we don’t have stubbornness in common. Why won’t you accept my help?”
“Oh, please, you are just as stubborn as you. ... I mean me. Me are just as stubborn as you. I... you know what I mean.” Gibson took large gulps of the water, but spat out the third intake after nearly choking on it.
Suupa flinched initially from the spit before bringing one of his hands to Gibson’s back and the other to support the cup, which looked like it was going to fall from Gibson’s wiggling hand. “Take small sips, okay? You can’t take in anything big because of your flu.”
Gibson sighed before putting the cup to his lips again and taking the water in slowly. After several moments, the cup was empty and Gibson set it to the side. He slowly closed his eyes, not wanting to keep them open any longer. “... Tell me about these remedies.”
Suupa rubbed Gibson’s back. “I’d be happy to.”
Gibson: I have feelings for you.
Suupa: I have feelings for you, too.
Narrator: The feeling was friendship, but neither had ever experienced it.
Otto: I’m good at math. U + I = 69
Suupa: Wait that would mean that I = 59 because U sure are a 10
Gibson: No. U + I = 145 as the atomic number for uranium is 92 and the atomic number for I is 53. because we have chemistry.
Sparx: oh for pete’s sake-
