The White House is spending more than $120,000 to buy two Ford Mustang GT muscle cars in what it says is part of a "compelling" and "urgent" need to use the cars to entice people to join the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, also known as ICE.

Safety and space at risk as SUVs reach 30% of car market in English cities, researchers warn

Analysis published by Clean Cities has found SUVs have gone from 3% to 30% of existing cars in the past two decades. In London, the number of SUVs has increased from about 80,000 in 2002 to about 800,000 in 2023.

Larger cars are more likely to cause deaths in crashes than smaller ones, as they weigh more and have tall front ends that can trap victims beneath them. 2026 is the year of calling every last one of these stupid oversized vehicles on the road "trucks".

"Luxury SUV"? no, it's a fancy truck you've got there. "3-row?" that's a truck. "Compact Crossover"? get outta here with your shitass euphemism for your little truck.

automakers flooded the market with these shits because they lobbied for lighter regulations for "trucks", then told the EPA every one of these things is "a light truck" to cheap out on emissions compliance. if they can say "truck" and generate profits from pollution, then they (and their buyers) had better stop being ashamed of the name for every other purpose.
