also had this thought so like. This is more writing meta and I'm not sure if anyone else talked about it but there's something incredibly intimate about the fact that we learn most about Kris-Berdly dynamic through Kris's flavour text
like. I know those theories about like oooooh the flavour text is this and that and who whatever Idk my head is starting to hurt just thinking about it (in general I'm not a big fan of "it's all a simulation therefore it doesn't matter and will lack things" theories because they feel incredibly lazy and infuriating to me) but like if anything so much of it IS Kris and their thoughts and we learn most about that dynamic through flavour text from Kris. Like yeah, there's some details but such an interesting amount of it that most points to how they feel about each other comes from the flavour text. Like not much even from Noelle besides some interesting comments.
also I've been thinking and like. god I love Noelle she's so flawed in a way. or well less flawed and more that I'm starting to headcanon her as a low empathy person who is still struggling to live with that the more I think about it. Mainly cuz her comment on an aborted weird route if you do it before freezing Berdly she's like haha I get wanting to prank him! Like I'm not saying she's Evil oh no way (I have fluctuating empathy personally so I could never anyways) but more that she has an interesting world view and she does like pranks a lot so. Also she like kinda believes all that isn't fully real which definitely adds to it. Just mainly saying that because I bet some people try to use that as evidence to say that she hates him when like. oh my god. oh my god. falls down stairs with my berdelle friendship I hold so close to my heart
they absolutely care about each otherrrrrrr cmonnnnnnnnnnn Susie doesn't hate him either, she's just kind of dismissive because she feels Berdly is like that with her too and she showed quite a bit how she will just conform to what kinda evil monster others see her as which makes COMPLETE SENSE. like that's so her and yet I'll see people saying that she haaaaaaaaates him when I think if they managed to get over the hurdle of massive fake ego to hide self vs apathy towards being dismissed to the point of being hard to approach then I think they'd get along, they'd quip at each other, suzberd friendship gaming yay and Berdly backseating and Susie trying to shush him from spoiling parts of the game they're playing, probably with playful threats which would scare Berdly at first but like god imagine if he takes it seriously but like. with honor
Susie joking she'll bite his head off if he talks just a word more about the last area in a game and he's like fine, bite my head off, I love that area too much to not talk about it, especially as the Certified Last Area Expert that I am so come on Susie, show me your chompers and bite my head off

also if like he overshared stuff about a game they'd play to the point that he hardcore spoiled it and made Susie feel genuinely mad about it I can see him trying to figure out gifting her something nice to "win back the friendship of a fellow gamer"
do you get me. cmon. expand this into all 4 of them, they'd be such a silly friendgroup overall and you're excluding Berdly on purpose because he has the hardest time finding the space to change
that is to say to the general fandom, the real one would be Kris lol, kid is stuck in the past
it's just that we actually see them having thoughts in real life in small ways which shows us that they're making tiny progress
