As a Storm Hawk, the Dark Ace and Suzy-Lu held up a fairly friendly rivalry between themselves. They'd frequently trade wits with each other and butt heads during the annual Saharr Race.

When he was captured behind Cyclonian lines, Suzy-Lu was among those in the rescue party, and was the one to find him and liberate him. His Sky Knight, Lightning Strike, had been looking for him elsewhere.

Five months later, Lightning Strike was betrayed by his own co-pilot.

Some first concept sketches for my own Snowy Owl character. As a character she's been in the works for a long while, but I took this as my chance to give her an actual design.

This here is Daisy-Mae, a maned Tundra Blizarian and wife of Suzy-Lu. She was an architect and infrastructure manager for several communities on Blizaris. When Cyclonia invaded, she managed to make it off the Terra and now helps her wife take care of the refugee group they're a part of.

Originally, Daisy was born to a nomadic community and grew up on the move, and she learned a lot about building homes and keeping them comfortable from her own parents. She only recently settled four years ago after marrying Suzy-Lu. In contrast to her wife, she's not overly fond of the wild stunts the Absolute Zeroes are known for, but has grown equally protective of the younger members of their community. While not a trained fighter, she's still fully capable of defending herself, and her bite is much worse than her bark. Her hope is to return home to Blizaris and start expanding her family with Suzy.

Some sketches of Suzy-Lu that I've not posted before, and a headcanon about Blizarian coats and markings. The examples given are not an exhaustive list.

Blizarians come in several varieties depending on which region of Blizaris they grow up in/have familiar roots in. The Terra's a big one, with more biome diversity than most, and thus Blizarians have developed a number of adaptations to each region. Suzy-Lu's family has roots in the alpine territories, and her wife comes from a long line of tundra nomads.

DAISY-MAE

Age: 29 Alliance: Sky Knights Occupation: Architect & Infrastructure Chief

Born a wanderer on eastern Blizaris, Daisy-Mae was part of a small group of hunters and traders. Growing up, she learned to hunt animals for food and pelts and how to build shelters of all sorts. This upbringing gave her an interest in architecture and construction. In one of the towns her family frequented, she became friends with a young Sky Knight squire, Suzy-Lu.

At the age of sixteen, Daisy decided to pursue an education in architecture, unfortunately leading her away from her family as she took an apprenticeship in a static town. A few years later, she started dating Suzy-Lu, and at twenty-four, they were both married.

(Show Events) Daisy currently lives on Terra Nord with Suzy and the rest of Blizaris' refugees. They're both looking for a 'New Blizaris' to settle on and Daisy is in charge of planning the first refugee town.

Daisy was... honestly difficult to get right, and that art is still a work in progress if you couldn't tell. She's about seventeen in that one and Suzy's 16. It's been nice to work on her though. I plan on doing some more art and writing with her in the future.

I'm sticking to canon characters, but if anyone's interested in OCs, or more blank-slate characters who got zero development during the show (I.e. Lightning Strike & Co.), feel free to ask.

Dark Ace & Suzy-Lu. Completely headcanon I know, but I high-key believe they're the best of drinking buddies when they're not fighting for their respective Terras, and had a pretty strong frienship before the betrayal that's held on throughout the years, despite what's happened. He's the main reason she managed to get as many evacuees off of Blizaris as she did.

Harrier and the younger Storm Hawks. Yes, the show depicts him as a pompous arse, but I see him as having several decades of experience. Outside of show events, he's strongly protective of the team and tries to Dad them from the sidelines. It doesn't sit well with him that a bunch of kids are fighting in the war (again), but as much as he tries to discourage them, he can't stop them. He worries a lot.

Cyclonis & Dark Ace. These two are... complicated. There's definitely a familial dynamic going on, but a number of factors have left it warped. The Dark Ace is protective of her, and does his best to keep her safe, but Cyclonis is an entitled, power-hungry child ruler with immense magical and political power at her disposal. It actually scares him, believe it or not, but that doesn't stop him from doing his utmost best to protect her and his Terra. He just hoped that eventually she'll grow into a better person.

Wren & Dove. Best granddad-granddaughter duo known to man. The show doesn't give us much, but my guess is that Wren has raised Dove for most of her life after her parents died; most likely due to the war with Cyclonia. He obviously cares for her a lot, and likely wishes she wasn't so involved in the fighting. Not out of any attempts to stifle her; he just wants Dove to be safe. It's likely something they argue about, but they still love each other very much. They're probably all they have, aside from the other Rebel Ducks.
