STARDEW VALLEY AU!!

Candace is named in the will of her and Phineas's biological grandfather (on their absent father's side). Candace is struggling to get anywhere in a career she hates, so this seems like a sign from above. But she loathes to go and get some mysterious farm property back into some facsimile of working order by herself - especially because she HATES dirt and bugs!

Phineas and Ferb are graduating high school, but struggling to decide how to take their first steps into what seems like an extremely restrictive and unimaginative adult world. Having a new project dropped in front of them seems like the perfect opportunity for taking a couple gap-years before deciding where to go next.

The choice settles: Phineas and Ferb will go and see what can be made with this property, dragging a highly reluctant but out-of-patience Candace along with them. When they finally get there and see the state of the place, Ferb has to pick their sister up and over his shoulder to keep her from sprinting back to the bus.

Candace ends up staying - but ONLY on the condition that her brothers actually, for once, by some miracle, s l o w d o w n for once in their lives. She swears to them that none of them were going to be staying for long if this sleepy farm turns into another construction site. And honestly, this is true - so the boys easily concede.

"Yeah, right" Candace says. The boys don't know that they're her failsafe; if they can't manage to keep from doing something over-the-top, she can drop this experimental new life without guilt.

Phineas thrives surrounded by the friendly people of the local town, and the untouched wilderness so close to the farm's door - as well as having so much space to work with - scratches a deep itch in his brain. Ferb finds peace and satisfaction performing the monotonous role of an amateur farmer. And Candace? She has a crush on the guitarist in town named Jeremy. But the farm life is difficult to adapt to. She wakes up every day expecting her brothers to do some insane thing to get her out of this dump. Only to end the day surprised that they seem too preoccupied by getting said dump in working order to agonize about inventing.

A month in, Phineas loses his temper at her for twiddling her thumbs while he and Ferb did all the work - she was, admittedly, being quite snippy about their slowly dwindling budget and how long things were taking. Later, Ferb finds her at the edge of the property, on the fence both literally and figuratively. The quiet young man reads her to a tee about using her brothers as an escape route back to civilization, and tells her it's okay if she truly hates it here not to stick around. But hey, she was here, and the beauty of being someplace new is that you get to try it on - like a new pair of jeans, sometimes it's just not your cut, but she wouldn't know unless she tried wearing them out.

Thus Candace decides to put on her Grr face and get serious about this whole farming business. With the three of them, how hard could it really be?

guys. guys look. future/timeskip kieran and flori(an) (ocification moment) with an actual oc professor (hemlock) in the middle... ill drop full refs under the cut. flori is shadowing under hemlock before he's able to just go off and be a professor :)

The main narrative for these 3 is basically just Kieran following along so Flori doesn't get into stupid shit, and Hemlock is getting used to having people Living Near Her (She's very isolated and so is her lab). i love them all a lot. this is very important. (Also SGHR are supposed to be around 20-22 here? )

Hemlock is basically just cunty older woman. I love her. she's very blunt and shows care in an extremely hands off way. she doesnt let the others sleep in her house (next to the lab) they get a mattress IN the lab.
