To those who don't know:
I heard many talks and jokes about Loki and his desperate love to horses. I won't tell you the hidden meaning of that myth but I will tell you what actually happened.
Asgard needed the walls, that walls which could easily bear a hard war (siege) but they could not find anyone who would help æsir with that.
But then one day to them came one person which real personality and other information they could not see no matter how they tried. He agreed to build but as a payment wanted Freya as his wife and Sun and Moon as a dowry.
Loki convinced Odin to take this offer. He proposed to shorten the time of building to just a one winter and also added that the mysterious man should do this without any help. Only when that man asked for a assistense of his hourse the trickster decided to let the builder (who was actually a jötun) do it — Loki was confident (at least he tried to play it) that that man wouldn't be able to finish at time and then ases would just need to put the last bricks (and this is when I started to wonder: did he do that on purpose? He was half-jötun after all and æsir who came as conquerors should be enemies to him).
Strange person surprisingly quickly agreed (again, it looks like he already knew about the rules). However he was doing that much faster than Gods expected. And so...
Well, æsir eventually realised that the problem was in the horse. And they harshly treatened Loki to make sure that he would cheat and make the builder to fail.
And then versions bifurcate:
first say that it was Trickster who turned himself into a horse
However the in the other...
It it said that ODIN transformed him into that animal. Interesting, isn't it?
But even if we follow the first version we could say that Loptr did that because he had no choice. He needed to save his life (and help the ases).
Although ALL the versions agree that Loki WAS RAPED.
Just imagine HOW he felt.
He just wanted to DISTRACT the hourse not THAT.
Do you know that when a woman was raped she sometimes want to kill her child?
And most hate.
You see, no one needed to know about Sleipnir.
Loki could just kill him.
But he returned. With a child.
Despite all the mockery that he might get (and he got a greeeeat amount of it).
You know, that Loki HATES when someone metions it?

Oh, yes, Thor also HATES when someone metions how he returned his Mjolnir (the wedding dress thing).
But his story was something like this:
Thor was SLEEPING (and he needed to do the other thing)
And one jötun stole his precious hammer.
Then he JUST wore some women's clothing and listened to how beautiful he was. NO ONE EVER TOUCHED HIM.
