Update on Plagiarism of Block B’s Toy
Svensprink, the German artist who used Toy’s instrumental for his song Megafon, claims that he was scammed into buying the beat. (Source).
Although he deleted the MV, the song is still available for purchase online. Even if he was truly scammed, he has now been made aware of the infringement and needs to take the song down.
This is the beat producer from whom Svensprink allegedly purchased the plagiarized instrumental. The Toy-like beat in question was uploaded to Youtube on April 14, 2016, just days after Toy was released. There’s no way he could have gotten a license in 4 days even if he tried.
Ryan Sage sells tracks on his website (http://www.ryansage.net) for licenses costing $30-$200, and producer credits.
Check out this VERY sketchy disclaimer on Ryan Sage’s website:
If one purchases a beat containing a sample/sampled hook, it is not my (The Producer Ryan Sage) responsibility to attempt any sort of sample clearance what so ever. If you feel the need to clear a sample for your intended use of the beat, it is your (The Recording Artist) and/or your publisher/record labels responsibility to do so.
So he admits he samples preexisting songs and sells sampled tracks likely without a license...
