ft. @svnktyas ( jytte. )
hannes was enjoying the masquerade as much as he could. he’d laughed with his friends and was let them know how much they meant to him, for the first time. but something was off, and he couldn’t know what. perhaps it was the thought of his family haunting him --- they would love to see such things, especially jytte. oh, jytte. hannes could see her smile looking at the women wearing their beautiful gowns, and the excitement in her eyes pulling him to the dance floor. what he wouldn’t do to have his family with him again ? as much as their deaths made hannes the man he was and brought him to ravka, he wished that it didn’t happen. they didn’t deserve that --- especially the girls and klaus. all of them were just children, whose destiny fell in the hands of bloodthirsty drusjes. but their mistake was to let one of them alive --- hannes would avenge his family, no matter what.
but the thoughts became too much for him to bear, and the mask was an unnecessary object on his face, suffocating him. the fjerdan spy made his way to the nearest balcony, taking his mask off before reaching it. he didn’t care for the rules of such event --- none of them cared for what happened to his family or the traumas it brought to him, of course. weren’t they the enemy ? he took a deep breath when he reached the outside, but stepped on his tracks when he saw a woman there. she had something familiar in her, even with her mask. something that reminded him of home. “ i’m sorry, ma’am, i didn’t know you were here. i can go, if you want. ”
