your head is pounding before your eyes even open. the kind of headache that pulses behind your eyes and coils in your neck.
a groan bubbled past your lips, low and soft before you froze. there was warmth next to you, and it wasn’t from your blankets.
it’s a body.
a warm, solid body. one that shifts slightly, pulling the sheets with it.
your eyes snap open as you sit up slowly, wincing as your head protests the sudden movement, before you look down to confirm what some fuzzy part of your brain already knew.
Rafael Barba.
half on his stomach, arm tucked under his pillow, his mouth slightly open and god help you, bare chested. maybe more, but you weren’t brave enough to check yet.
you glance down at yourself, definitely naked. definitely last night’s eyeliner smudged under your eyes. you look like someone who made a mistake.
or maybe it was a very bold decision.
Barba groans beside you and you freeze again.
he blinks awake slowly, squinting against the morning light and his brow furrowing in that way you know all too well from the courtroom.
“detective..?”
he asks slowly, his voice rough and disoriented.
your mouth opens, and then closes, before opening again, eyes drifting down to the sheets between you both.
“we uh… did we?
he followed your gaze, before pulling the sheets up with a sudden realisation.
“oh my god”
you both stare at each other for a long beat, allowing the silence time to thicken.
“do you remember?”
the words finally managed to leave you, but only because someone had to say something.
Rafael runs a hand down his face and sighs.
“not entirely. there was a bar, we were celebrating the Torres conviction”
you passed a smile at his words, the night coming back in foggy drags.
“yeah, drinks at McGarrity’s. you insisted on trying that scotch Munch always raves about”
he winced, but only for a second.
“that explains the taste in my mouth”
the sun began peeking in through the blinds as he spoke, highlighting the thatch of hair that led from his naval downwards that had piqued your interest last night.
you sighed, rubbing at your temple.
“okay but.. how do we not remember this?”
Barba gave a weak and crooked smirk, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
“clearly we were very thorough”
you shot him a look, but it softeneed almost immediately. his hair was a mess, a faint trail of hickies trailing his collarbone, and his hand still pressed to the sheets like he was guarding a national secret under it.
“you okay?”
the question was soft, quiter than your previous words.
he looked at you, and for a second there was something vulnerable in his usually unshakeable expression.
“i’m not not okay. just.. processing everything, this is new territory”
you nod along to his words, suddenly very aware of the fact that you’re both still in bed.
“should we.. talk about it? or pretend it didn’t happen?”
Rafael paused, considering.
“let’s get coffee. clothes first, then caffeine. then we figure out where we go from here”
you slid out of bed, grabbing your shirt from the floor while his eyes followed your every move slowly.
turning, you met his gaze with a smile.
“deal, but fair warning, if anyone at the precint finds out then we’re both dead”
he smirked up at you, amusement dancing in his eyes.
“then we better get our stories straight, detective”
she was so nervous to ask you out but a good pep talk from olivia and slight bullying session from alex finally pushed her to go through with it
overthinks a lot about her relationship with you because she thinks you deserve better
you always remind her she’s perfect for you but she’s just nervous sometimes 💔
she loves watching movies with you after a long or particularly stressful shift. she doesn’t enjoy the movies as much as she does clinging to you throughout them, though.
she always makes you choose the movie!! sometimes you can finally make her give in and choose one for once, but she’s just so determined to please you that she’ll end up picking one she knows you’ll enjoy
loves taking you out to fancy dinners
but also recognizes that it’s not completely your scene
she pays attention to you during these situations to see if you need to leave or take a break from the event <3
she lets you play your music in the car, even if it’s not the type she usually listens to or enjoys
she LOOOOVES showing you off!! she’s a bit protective at first ofc and kind of wanted to keep you her little secret but eventually she just couldn’t hide her obsession w you anymore
lots of non sexual intimacy like when you shower together and she cleans you <3
gets SUPER nervous any time something even seems slightly off with you because she needs to make sure you’re 100% okay all the time
defends you to the ends of the earth even if you’re wrong (she’ll let you know later and scold you when nobody else is around)
nsfw
tends to have a really high sex drive after closing a satisfying case
her sex drive plummets after a particularly hard or draining case tho
BUT sometimes after those hard and draining cases she’ll let you eat her out to calm her down and give her some relief <3
if you ever attend a court proceeding where she’s the prosecutor, she’ll make sure to show off during her close-ups
she loves ruffling your feathers when she knows you can’t do anything about it; when you’re at a restaurant, when you’re at the store, when you’re at the table next to her entire team…
everything she does is purposeful. even if it seems like she stuttered a bit during her “performance” or made a mistake, it’s always something she does to make you go insane or get more desperate— or just to make you impatient
MESSYYYYYYY when she eats you out. she loves basically destroying you with her tongue and getting as many orgasms out of you as possible. the sounds she makes when she’s eating you out >>>>>
she’s obsessed w the sounds your pussy makes when she’s eating you out; it’s part of why she’s so messy with it
she’ll take you out to nice events with super expensive outfits just so she can rip it off you later. she has the salary of an ADA; she can just buy you a new one :>
buys you expensive lingerie just to ruin it
again, she can just buy more
loves dressing you up in different pieces <3 you’re like her little sexy barbie doll
her hands are fucking insane we all know that… and she uses it to her advantage!!!! that little shit….
wears outfits that highlight her cleavage when you go out on expensive dates
teases you during the dates <3 especially when she leans forward to talk to you
loves taking care of you!!! sexually or just emotionally!!
always comes up with new things to try; she loves experimenting!! especially with you as her little test subject 🫣
could spend a whole day in bed with you, genuinely. the amount of times she’s almost ignored her work calls just to continue pleasing you is borderline truant.
loves being a service top <3 she doesn’t even need you to reciprocate because satisfying you gets her off
SOOO SWEET LIKE YEAH SHE CAN BE A HARD DOM SOMETIMES BUT DEEP DOWN SHE’S JUST A SOFT TEDDY BEAR WHO WANTS TO PLEASE YOU <333

It seemed to all have been arranged–Olivia sensed this when she finally entered her apartment that night and closed the door behind her. Looking back, it all made sense now. How could they have missed it?
A week ago, Olivia and you her partner had walked onto the fresh crime scene. You specialized in homicide cases, and this case was a homicide if they had ever seen one. Olivia blew into her gloves, sliding them onto her hands one at a time, as she walked into the kitchen where the body lay. She still was not completely used to the sight of a body, especially a girl as young as this one was, so she took a moment for some deep breaths, before she drew reality back into her head.
“Female vic, Ellie Paige, 17, shot in the head… Jesus…” You sighed, rubbing your forehead and staring at the splattered blood and then the body.
It wasn’t everyday that you two found a seventeen year old dead in a kitchen. Although it did happen more than you or Olivia would have liked. The girl was on her back, face up, with a singular bullet to the head. Blood was spilt across the floor and splattered across the cabinets from the shot. But something about this particular case got to both detectives.
“Time of death?” Olivia breathed out a question to the coronary who was standing near the dead girl’s body.
“In between 1 and 3am…” they responded.
“Mom a Katherine Paige is in the bedroom, apparently hysterical.” You spoke out, looking to Olivia, “Liv, they waited for us to interview her.”
Olivia nodded, looking around the room once more, before following you into the adjoining room. In the main bedroom, there were two techs trying to calm an older woman down. The mother. You swiftly excused the techs, as Liv approached the woman.
“Ms. Paige. I’m Detetive Olivia Benson, and this is my partner Detective Y/N L/N. We are here to take your statement. Can you please tell us what happened?”
The woman’s hands were flailing and shaking as she paced back and forth. At the sound of Olivia’s voice, the woman stopped in her tracks and suddenly met Liv’s gaze.
“I don't, I don't understand… I don’t understand…!” Ms. Paige exclaimed, “I… my daughter, Oh God my daughter!!”
The mother then proceeded to break down, and Olivia was swift to grab her before she fell to the floor. She continued to ramble.
“Hey, let's get her out of here. Take her to the precinct…” You murmured lowly for only Liv to hear as you nudged her lightly.
Olivia looked up at you and nodded, proceeding to get up and guide Ms. Paige through the room, past the kitchen, and out the door. After she successfully got the woman in their patrol car, the ride to the precinct was rather smooth.
Both detectives made sure that the woman was comfortable, placing her in the family room at the precinct, a colorful and bright room, designated for family interviews. Olivia sat with the woman on a couch, while you watched on the opposing side of the mirror window.
“Ms. Paige, I know this is hard… But can you do your best to try and tell me what happened…? What is the last thing you remember?” Olivia gently prompted the woman, after letting the woman calm down a bit.
“I… I remember going to bed… I was really tired…” the woman stammered.
The young brunette detective squeezed Ms. Paige’s hands with her own in reassurance.
“That’s good, really good. What is the last thing you remember about Ellie?”
“Ellie… Oh Ellie… I… I remember Ellie doing the dishes…” The woman stammered in response.
You watched your partner continue the interview with a similar pattern of responses. Meanwhile, you began to look over the current files of the case. When Olivia was finished had let Ms. Paige go for the night, she came back to her desk across from you, who were quizzically looking at the case file.
“What’s up…?” Liv asked you, nudging you slightly along with her prompted words.
You were sucked back into reality from your thoughts, sucking in a breath before starting.
“Nothing I just…”
“You think the mom looks good for it…?” Olivia asked with a chuckle, accompanied by an eyeroll.
“Yea… Yeah I do.” You chuckled in response.
The young brunette sat in her desk chair and sighed.
“It is convenient that she doesn’t remember anything…” Olivia admitted.
Now that you had gotten your partner hooked on the theory, you lit up and started to present your case with gleaming and intrigued expression.
“Yes, and prints on the gun came back and guess who’s prints were on it…?” You said with a glimmer in his eyes.
“You already compared prints?” Olivia chuckled again when you nodded and hummed in response, “Ok ok, I’m going to guess the prints belong to the mom…”
“Bingo.”
“But she had no gunshot residue…” Liv sighed.
“Aha! But neither did the girl!” You exclaimed.
“Okay… But doesn’t that speak for a break-in?” Olivia questioned skeptically.
You shot your partner another quizzical look.
“A break-in where they only shot the girl, didn’t take anything, didn’t harm the mom, and they left the gun…? Nuh uh, I don’t think so…” you insisted.
“I don’t know… Something is off about this one…” Liv hummed.
“No signs of struggle on the girl. If she knew her attacker, she may not have put up as much of a fight…”
Liv sat back in her chair, in thought.
“What…?” You chuckled.
~~
Two weeks later, the Katherine Paige was arrested for the murder of her daughter, Ellie Paige. But nonetheless, something didn’t sit right with Olivia.
“Benson, you’re still getting used to this job… it’s okay to be wrong. That’s part of working homicide, sometimes our theory’s turn out to be just that, theories.” You explained, looking across your desk to the young brunette.
Olivia still wasn’t convinced. Her gut told her it was something else. But she was forced to move on with her partner, go to the next homicide case.
That was until one of Ellie’s friends stepped into the precinct. She told the detectives a story about how Ellie’s mother abused her and how Ellie was suicidal. Olivia’s gut wrenched having to interview this girl, and by the time she met you on the other side of the glass, she wanted to throw up.
“Gotta hand it to you, now your theory has more credibility… maybe your gut was right.”
“How could a mother do that to her child…?” Liv breathed out.
You handed the young woman a cup of water. She took it gratefully.
The case was reevaluated and closed out, ruled a suicide. But it changed Olivia. And four weeks later, Benson was transferring to SVU.
SVU Squad ♡ A Very SVU Christmas - Series Masterlist ♡ 0.3k ♡ Ao3
When Olivia had walked into the squadroom that morning, the last thing she had expected to be met with was the Christmas tree, which was significantly bigger than the small one they’d had last year.
It stood in the middle of the room, desks and chairs moved aside to accommodate it. She watched as Carisi awkwardly side-stepped it to get to where she was standing, calling out her name as he struggled.
“Does anyone wanna fill me in on how that invaded?” She asked, a smirk pulling at her lips. Her eyes trailed over the tree, from the base to where Amanda was standing on a ladder, trying to set up the lights.
Fin smiled at her. "Funny story, actually. I thought I'd buy a tree for me and Phoebe–a real one this year– turns out, the apartments a bit too small for this one. So, I thought I'd bring it down here." He shrugged, placing a hand on Amanda's ladder as it moved.
"Muncy and Velasco went out to buy some decorations, because as it turns out, we only have 5 ornaments and a star." He continued. "Wanna pitch in, Cap?"
Three hours later, they'd finally finished decorating the tree. Every flat surface was covered in boxes upon boxes of baubles, ornaments, and tinsel. To say that Muncy and Velasco had gone all-out would've been the understatement of the century.
The squadroom, which had looked fairly empty the night before, now looked like a Christmas miracle had happened. They'd gone all out and decorated their desks too; Amanda's a classic red and gold, Muncy's in varying shades of pink, Velasco's in blue and white, and Fin's a chaotic combination of everything.
Olivia's office had fallen victim to the Christmas madness as well, tinsel lining the windowsills and lights surrounding her desk. She'd eyed Fin questioningly as she looked up at the piece of mistletoe that hung above her office door.
He'd shrugged, smirking at her. "Thought I'd put it up in case Stabler comes by."
Olivia rolled her eyes, but didn't comment, instead going back to watching the rest of her squad as they decorated. She could get used to this.

“Sit. Drink.” he whispered.
She hummed her response as she closed her eyes and rested her hands on the bed, her fingers curling into the bedspread.
She could hear the water running in the bathroom, and his quiet footsteps as he moved about only a few feet away. She sighed and rolled her neck back and forth; the painkillers had barely taken the edge off. Her head felt like it was being crushed by a ten-tonne weight. Her eyes burned, the light on the nightstand even too much to tolerate. She gripped the glass slowly, letting the cool water flow down her throat, replacing the glass on the side, and closing her eyes once more.
She jumped at a sudden hand on her shoulder but soon relaxed when her eyes squinted open to see concerned frown hovering over her.
“Shower’s ready, come on.” he murmured, eying her with heartfelt concern.
He held out a hand for her and she gripped it tightly, leaning on him heavily as she became upright. His arm wrapped around her waist as they moved to the bathroom.
She shrugged off her blazer and went to remove her blouse but was struggling to undo the buttons. She felt his hands move hers to fall to the side and sighed as he removed the offending fabric and start working on her pants. She held onto his shoulders as she stepped out of each pant leg, and she was left stood in her underwear.
He kissed her forehead, his lips trailing across her temple and down her cheek and she sank into his arms.
“You’ll feel better soon, ‘Liv, I promise.”
She smiled although it came across as more of a grimace as she removed her underwear and turned to step into the shower. He had already undressed and guided her under the water carefully before stripping off his boxers and joining her.
She had to rest her hands on the wall, her head dropping down to her chest as she let the hot water soothe her neck and shoulders.
He moved to stand behind her, his hands grazing up her sides and into her sore spots, his fingers working into her muscles, and she groaned loudly.
“Tilt your head back, cariño.”
He squirted a dollop of shampoo into his hands and worked her scalp, not only to work in the liquid but to try and relax her. She tilted her neck as he moved to one side, then the other, the pressure in her head finally easing ever so slightly. He rinsed the shampoo carefully before applying conditioner and lathering up a loofah to wash the rest of her body.
Olivia was content. His touch across her body, manipulating every curve and dip in her skin, soothing her entire body, not just the parts that ached the most. Usually at this point she would be keening for something more, his mouth following the path of his hands, his lips working her into a frenzy. But not today, she was quickly feeling extraordinarily fatigued, her eyes stayed closed, and her knees sagged so he held her up, his strong arms keeping her safe.
He moved away only for a second, stepping out and assisting her back to dry land, wrapping a soft fluffy towel around her body. He turned the water off and grabbed his own towel, securing it at his waist as he guided her back into their bedroom. He had left a pair of comfy pyjama shorts and a t-shirt on the bed for her and after drying carefully she changed and wrapped a small towel around her damp hair.
“Nap time.” she whispered, holding out a hand to him as he emerged from the bathroom, dry and dressed in sweatpants but bare chested.
“Give me two minutes.” he replied as he left the room.
She clambered into bed, her body relaxing instantly as the cool feel of the bedsheets enveloped her body.
She vaguely heard him return, his presence was instantly comforting, soothing, calming and she had never been so relieved to have someone whom she loved so much and loved her in return.
“Can’t sleep ‘til you’re here, Rafa.” she murmured, curling into his side, her head pillowed by his arm and his hand pinching and moving across the muscles in her neck very gently.
“You’re the best migraine cure.” she smiled.
“Just doing my part.” he grinned, kissing her softly as her eyes fluttered shut, “Rest, ‘Liv, I’ve got you.”
Chapter summary: In hopes of catching a high profile rapist, Y/n goes undercover in a Broadway production of one of her favorite musicals, helped along by her close friend and love of her life, detective Carisi
Content/warnings: This chapter is more of an introduction to the story, but there’s definitely some fluff with Sonny in here
Word count: 1,895
Y/n Y/l/n was not a coward. She fought through abuse, homelessness, abduction and the day to day stressors of being an SVU detective, each struggle forcing her out the other side stronger than before, using music as a crutch, so it was no surprise to Sonny Carisi that she fought for the chance to go undercover performing on broadway, in a sequel to her favorite musical no less.
The case was nothing too out of the ordinary for the squad, simply a rapist drugging performers and assaulting them backstage, but the suspect being somewhat high profile made it so being caught in the act by a cop would be the best way to ensure conviction, a fact that Y/n was quick to convince the squad of.
She sat quietly that morning, mentally going over her proposition and knee bouncing as the soundtrack to Mamma Mia 2 played softly through an earbud tucked discreetly behind her hair.
"Hey Liv, you said that one of the girls who was attacked quit the production, right?” Y/n called to the Sergeant as she walked in the door, turning in her desk chair to face her superior.
"Good Morning to you too, Y/n, but yes she did quit, I don’t blame her in the slightest but i admit it's pretty unfortunate for the crew, the play opens in a week and she was a main character"
Liv smiled politely at the detective as she spoke, a little shocked by the eagerness to jump straight into work on a saturday morning but questioning it, instead choosing to hang her coat on the rack outside her office and pick up the case file in question.
Y/n took a breath, hesitating slightly before offering up her idea.
"Well, what if I took her place? I've done a fair share of undercover work, and I used to do musical theatre when I was in school. Plus, it's the role of Donna that they lost, right? I can make myself look kinda like her, at least enough that they’d take me on to help with the case" Y/n looked nervously at her hands, fearing the probable rejection, but before Liv could reply Sonny cut in, walking over to Y/n's desk and plopping himself down on the corner.
"Ya know Sarge, that's not a half bad idea, we could get up close and personal with the cast, and it’ll be way easier to keep the girls safe and get some physical evidence against the guy. Plus, I've heard talk that Y/l/n's a damn talented singer."
Y/n grinned up at Sonny, thanking her friend for the compliment while silently praying that she'd at the very least get the chance to talk to the director about it.
"Well if you're sure you're up for it, I could definitely make a couple calls. I’ll warn you not to get your hopes up, seeing as this is a broadway production and they might have an understudy already, but I absolutely agree we should have someone undercover with the girls.”
Olivia replied, turning to her office to go make the call.
15 minutes passed, leaving Y/n waiting in anxious silence for the verdict and a supportive Amanda and Sonny hovering by her desk. It had been almost half an hour when Liv emerged from the office, and Y/n stood up with hopeful eyes turned to the Sergeant, who's face broke into a smile.
"Good news Y/l/n, it turns out you earned yourself quite a reputation within the musical theatre community, and she says if you can be ready for opening night next week without letting the fact that you’re a cop slip, you’re in!"
Y/n beamed at Olivia, thank you's spilling from her lips as Amanda cheered and Sonny clapped her on the back.
This is gonna be so good for her, he thought to himself with a smile, transfixed by his friend’s joyful smile.
“We should head down to the theatre as soon as possible to work out the details with her, if i’m gonna be wearing a wire, what happens if and when we catch him, that type of stuff” Y/n said, a quickly adopted professional appearance masking her excitement.
The performance isn’t the focus here y/n, this is only happening because the women in the musical are in danger and this is the best way to keep them safe. She thought to herself while sliding out of her chair and grabbing her phone, following Sonny, who had oh so graciously offered to accompany her to the theatre, towards the front of the building.
Of course, my performance is important too, can’t risk messing up and blowing my cover in rehearsal or, god forbid, screwing up in the middle of the performance. Jeez, the NYPD would never be trusted to work alongside a Broadway show again.
Y/n shook the final thought from her mind and shot her friend a smile as they climbed into a squad car, driving the short distance from the precinct to what somewhat coincidentally, was named Broadway Theatre. Parking in an open spot along the curb, Sonny climbed out of the car and upon rounding the car and stepping up onto the sidewalk was met with a starry eyed Y/n, who was staring up at the bright blue sign advertising Mamma Mia: Here we go again, opening in 7 days, starring Y/n Y/l/n.
Sonny stared up at the sign in both shock and pride, firstly feeling more than impressed at how fast the crew had managed to get his partner’s name into the adverts, and secondly thrilled at the look of awe plastered across her face, the lights surrounding the poster reflecting beautifully in her eyes.
“Congrats kid, looks like you made it! Don’t forget about all us little people once you’ve become one of those big broadway actresses”
He clapped her on the shoulder as he spoke, Y/n giggling at the detective’s joke, but couldn’t drown out the little voice at the back of her head wishing that his words would come true.
Turning her attention back to the entrance, Y/n shot a playful “shut up” towards Sonny and made her way to the doors, leaving her grinning friend jogging to catch the door before it shut in his face.
The hours flew by as Y/n was walked through everything that would be happening over the next few weeks.
First she and Sonny were introduced to the director, the three of them working out the best course of action pertaining to the suspected rapist, the group deciding after a lengthy debate that if they didn’t make an arrest before opening night, Y/n would come up with a discreet signal between herself and the SVU detectives who would be in the audience and backstage that would let them know who to arrest and when during the performance.
Next, Sonny was left behind in an office while Y/n was brought to the main stage and rehearsal area, where she was introduced to the rest of the cast who welcomed her with open arms, immediately jumping in to run lines and teach y/n the choreography for the musical. By the time everyone called it quits for the day, the sun had begun to set and Y/n was absolutely beat, her cheerful mood quickly beginning to sour now that she had stopped singing.
Tucking her script into her bag, Y/n took heavy steps up to the exit, groaning as she realized she’d have to take the subway back to her apartment. The thought of having to sit on a loud, crowded train while this exhausted drew a sigh to her lips, trudging outside and fixing her hair before turning towards the nearest station, expecting to find a quieting street but being pleasantly surprised by the sight of her partner and best friend leaning up against a streetlamp and holding a paper bag from her favorite bakery, bringing a relieved smile to her face.
“Sonny Carisi you are a sight for sore eyes. What are you even doing here, it’s been hours!” Y/n called as she approached the man, who righted himself and wandered towards her with a smile on his face at the sound.
“Couldn’t just leave ya here after a long day doll, I'm here bearin’ snacks and a ride home” Sonny chuckled as she smiled gratefully and threw her arms around his shoulders in a quick hug, pulling away to take the bag from his hand.
“It’s cannoli, not as good as my mom’s but i hope it’ll do for tonight. Now c’mon, let’s get you home”
Y/n beamed and thanked her friend, who smiled back and gestured a little further down the street to where what y/n assumed was Sonny’s car was parked and she followed him to it, thanking him again but this time throwing in a sleepy mumble of “shotgun” before sliding into the passenger seat, which caused Sonny to let out a snort of laughter as he joined her in the car.
It wasn’t long before the rumble of the engine lulled Y/n into a deep sleep, head rolling to the side to rest against the car’s window. Sonny smiled softly at her sleeping form, careful to avoid the potholes in the road.
It took him nearly ten minutes driving towards his own home to realize that despite their years of friendship, Sonny had never actually been to Y/n’s apartment, and couldn’t remember her ever mentioning an address
Stopping at a red light, the detective reached over to the right side of the car, gently nudging y/n’s sleeping form. She didn’t awaken right away, needing a few more nudges from Carisi’s side of the car, but eventually sleepy eyes fluttered open, staring groggily at her friend.
“Sorry doll, but i don’t know where you live, you gotta gimme your address” Sonny whispered, brushing a strand of hair that had fallen in front of y/n’s face away.
“too tired, dunno.. can’t r’member” She mumbled, head falling back against the window as the light turned green and Sonny drove forward. The car was silent again, Y/n too exhausted to speak and Sonny debating what he should do.
“...D’ya just wanna crash at my place tonight?” He was hesitant to ask, worried that Y/n would think he was taking advantage of her, but to his relief she gave a slow nod, a smile creeping across her face before passing out again.
Sonny smiled too, and the rest of the drive was quiet, him pulling into a back parking lot a few minutes later and unclipping his seatbelt. A look over at Y/n, fast asleep and softly snoring in the passenger seat brought a smile to his face, and quietly he got out of the car and moved around to her side, carefully scooping his friend into his arms bridal style and locking the car.
The smile didn’t leave Sonny’s face the whole trip across the lost, up the elevator, and into his apartment, where he gently laid Y/n’s sleeping form across his couch and draped a warm blanket over her. She looked peaceful as she slept, the layers of stress usually hardening her face having vanished, and it warmed Sonny’s heart. Pulling another blanket over her, Sonny crouched down to press a soft kiss to Y/n’s forehead, and with a whisper of “sweet dreams, doll”, he clicked off the light and left her to sleep.

“I can’t see my feet.” | Sonny Carisi
Warnings: Fluff galore, pregnancy
You’d been taking more time in the bathroom recently–you told Sonny that every time you got up from the toilet, you needed to pee again–so at first, he wasn’t worried. Sure, you’d been in the bathroom for forty five minutes, but you were getting ready for a colleague’s wedding, so he figured you were just trying to put in some extra effort.
But after twenty minutes of frustrated groans, he was starting to get a little worried.
You heard a gentle knock on the door and Sonny’s soft voice, drawing you from your focus. “Babe?”
“It’s unlocked!” You responded, turning your attention back to the bottle of nail polish in your hands before trying again to reach your toes.
Sonny crept in, taking in the sight. You were perched on the edge of the tub, your foot resting on the edge as you tried fruitlessly to reach it over your big belly.
“Are you okay? It was startin’ to sound like you were goin’ into labor in here,” he mused, leaning against the sink.
“I can’t see my feet,” you huffed, putting the nail polish down in defeat.
Sonny chuckled. “Well, yeah, doll. You’re in the third trimester–it kinda gets hard to see over the bump at that point.”
You glared at him. “I know that, babe. But I can’t paint my toe nails if I can’t see my toes. It took long enough for me to shave my legs, and if I can’t paint my toes, I’m going to want to wear close-toed shoes to Meg’s wedding, and then I’m going to have to scour through the closet to try and find a pair that will match the dress but–”
Sonny stood up, approaching you and offering you his hand. “Come on,” he said.
You stared at him blankly for a second. “Huh?”
“Sit on the toilet, give me your feet. I’ll paint them for you.”
He couldn’t help but smile at how quickly your face lit up. “You’d do that for me?” You cooed, taking his hand to stand.
“Of course.”
“Thank you!”
You closed the lid to the toilet and sat, watching Sonny take your place on the edge of the tub. He picked up the polish and took one of your feet, placing it in your lap.
He took in your earlier attempts, chuckling at the half-painted big toe and and the splotch of blue on the pinkie. “You really can’t see your feet,” he smiled.
“I’m in the third trimester–it’s kinda hard to see past the bump at this point,” you said, trying to imitate his voice.
He smiled as he got to work, but he tried to hide it, feigning anger. “Hey, you want me to help or not?”
Gonna be a little self-indulgent with this one since I’m currently in the hospital, alone... thanks again @moresvuheadcanons for editing.
“If it makes you HAPPY… it can’t be that baaaad, if it makes you h-“ Sheryl Crow belted, waking you from your slumber. Your head pounded, but you chalked it up to the early morning hour. Hitting your alarm off, you ventured out of bed. Every movement made your insides spin and stab. After a very carefully taken shower, you gave up any other primping for the day and limped to a taxi.
A few hours into the school day the principal was in your classroom doing her monthly inservice when she pulled you behind your desk.
“Elizabeth, are you sick?” she asked.
“No it’s just menstrual cramps…” you said.
“Ok well, if you need a break or for a sub to be called…” as your boss talked a ringing in your ears took over, and you fell limp behind your desk.
When you woke next your mother was sitting next to you.
“Momma?” you asked.
“Betsy. Hey, you’re ok! Oh god, good.”
“Wh-at happened!?” You noticed your voice was frail.
“You had an appendectomy sweetheart. You’re appendix was near bursting when an ambulance brought you in, but you’re ok now. Just a little banged up.” She smiled, and there was a beat before she spoke again. “Oh! And there’s someone else here to see you.” She rose and barely had the door open when Sonny came flying into your hospital room.
“Hey doll! You're alright, Jesus!” Out of instinct you tried to rise up and comfort him, but were stopped by an intense pain.
“OUCH!” You yelped. Sonny squeezed your hand and helped you to lie back.
“Just lie still, ‘kay doll?” He asked, kissing your forehead.
“Well then stop p-anicking will you?” You slurred, pain medicine clearly working.
“I’m sorry that I worry about you and I’m sorry I’m terrified and kept thinking about seeing you being in a hospital bed the whole drive here.” With that confession Sonny seemed to calm himself, taking a seat on your hospital bed. “Y’know, this isn’t exactly how I wanted to meet your mom but…” he leaned forward, arm outstretched, “Detective Sonny Carisi.”
“Darla Torres…” she shook his hand.
When the sun was long gone, your mother hand gone home, and you’d fallen asleep, Sonny sat at your bedside. “I liked your mom,” he mused, pausing to move some of your stray hair; you whined in your sleep. “I’m gonna take care of you…” he placated, “I promised her I would.”
