The whole night was pretty. Everyone was smiling, there were shiny lights all around, the food was great and the drinks even better. Johanne had to admit that she loved weddings. Especially when she was invited and didn’t have to crash. Since it was a royal wedding, she was not surprised to see a lot of her nation friends there as well. But, as always, she always gravitated to her friends and siblings.

So, seeing Johanna sitting by her lonesome, would not work. Johanne grabbed the other girl’s hands and pretty much lifted her out of the chair. “Now, this is unacceptable. I’m actually wearing a dress and we haven’t danced yet. I will report you.” She grinned from ear to ear, tugging her towards the dance floor.

“Let’s show all these stuffy people how to really dance.”

Laying on her own couch, Johanne was just twiddling her fingers while she waited for Anna to come down. They were supposed to go out, but Anna came in sweats and whatnot, and Johanne absolutely said no to going to a bar with her like that - and Anna didn’t want to stay in. So, she sent her off to her closet. Finally seeing the other coming down, she sat up and tilted her head to have a look at her. Well.

Getting through the crowds was never quite easy. Especially not when everyone was returning from something as horrid as war. This war had lasted only four years, but all of Europe was shaken and still would be, considering what had just happened to all of them.

“Just - excuse me, Christ-” Johanne grunted as she squeezed between people all in her attempt to get through to the train station where she knew her sister waited for her. Seeing the top of her blonde hair from afar, made Johanne’s heart shudder and she quickly rushed towards her.

Four years apart - she couldn’t believe it was so short, yet so painfully long.

“Anna-” Johanne quickly grabbed her by her shoulders and pulled her in a tight hug, promising herself she won’t let her go any time soon.

Usually, his hair was short. Spiked, smoothed somewhat back with his fingers, as Gilbert hated having his hair in his face, hated anything to do with his hair in the first place. If he thought he could pull off a shaved head daily, he would have, but now the association of a white man with a shaved head dressing the way he did would not have been a good one- and Gilbert hated his scalp being cold.

So when she reached out and swept his hair out of his eyes, he was surprised. He mustn’t have noticed his hair, and he didn’t move quickly enough to jump out of the way (Gilbert was not a big fan of random touch, after all). However, he didn’t see a threat in what she did, and instead just gave her a suspicious look. Gilbert looked up at where here hand had just been, with his white hair now pushed back as he liked it, and then back at Johanna.

“Well, uh, thank you,” he said, somewhat awkwardly. He supposed that a thanks was in order here, but he wasn’t too sure. “You...have really soft hands and- are you wearing a moisturizer? It smells like roses or something. Flowers.” He asked because his own hands were cracking now in the dry cold air of the winter and if she had it on her, he would borrow it, even if it was flowery.
