Today, my sister Allie Swanson surprised me at Christmas with this ring. Now, you probably have noticed this ring is in the shape of a crown. What you don't know is that I've been longingly looking at this "official Miss America ring" for over a year now... Never being able to justify its purchase, yet promising myself one day I would own one, first inspired by so many of my incredible Miss A sisters sporting one a year ago at the pageant. Low and behold, I burst into tears when I opened a card with the most heartfelt words from my sister, but carried out in the handwriting of the company's owner Holly Hardwick. In addition to Allie's inspiring and heartfelt words, a little box with the ring was packaged right alongside. As I passed the card around, each member of Swanny Nation began to tear up as well. I am constantly encouraged and unexpectedly reminded of how incredible each member of my family is. Today, I was reminded how even though I am technically the Big Sister, I have the most humble, caring, role model of a Little Sister I could ever ask for. She has been an example of character and ethics to me ever since we were little, and I am so thankful to have someone so close to copy. I love my family more than anyone in the entire world!
