Adjacent to the site in Swan Wharf is the London Centre for Book Arts, relevant to my project, working in the same industry. I had a closer look at the facilities avilable so that the new design and LCBA can work in a collaborative manner rather than be competitors
The next step I took is to locate any libraries or independent bookshops within close proximity to the site, as can be seen, not many are actually situated within, or close to, Fish Island, specifically Swan Wharf
Started off by exploring the site a bit further and gaining an understanding of the heritage assets, slowly beginning to make decisions on what will be preserved in my design and what will be potentially refurbished or changed completely
beginning work on a new uni project in Fish Island, time to decided what’s my favorite part about East London :)
