MAY LANE, SYDNEY
Peque and Swaze
More than 15 years ago local business owner Tugi Balog, fed up with people tagging, turned May Lane into an official outdoor gallery space dedicated to street art. Australia+ says “May Lane is Sydney’s answer to Melbourne’s Hosier Lane, a space where urban artists come together to create their work without fear of being harassed or questioned by law enforcement. The beauty of the ephemeral art in this outdoor gallery space is that it is constantly evolving.” Just a few steps from the St. Peters station one of the first pieces a visitor encounters is this stunning 2015 collaboration between Peque VRS and Swaze1, reportedly dedicated to all fallen artists. @peque_vrs @swaze_1 @scenesfromthesidewalk
