It's just another #BeforeAfter from the #STRroadrunner. My first run in more than a week, but my fastest time since getting out of the hospital 48 days ago. Whatever soreness and aching I feel through my body seems numbed by the amount of love I experienced in the last eight days. I have learned to find strength in love. What started as a somewhat cool run, ended with the Sun poking its little head out. Carpe Diem Quam Minimum Credula Postero. #STRroadrunner testing my #Sprite #NewtonRunning Motion IV shoes in 6+" of this fluffy white sweetness...they didn't do too well. I didn't fall. Geh schnell! Had a good time at the first annual Ottawa Oktoberfest Beer Run last night! It's always fun to represent Streator (especially in Ottawa) for these races. My little partner in crime came and showed some support for me and participated in my #BeforeAfter pictures. No PR yesterday, but my time did improve from the other 5Ks I've done this year (25:20, fastest of the year). Trying to get into good shape to PR at the #CanalConnection on November 6. It was also inspiring to see @coreewoltering along the route after reading his blogs for the last few weeks. #STRroadrunner spent another Saturday running. This time it was in Peru for the Fall Fitness 5K. It was a strong pool of competition and a great turnout. I've been testing a new workout plan for myself to try and better myself and my times, this was the last step to lay down the foundation. To my disappointment, I didn't finish with a new PR, but I did end up placing 3rd in my age group. I didn't get to stay for the ceremony due to other obligations. I got one more race out of my #BigTime #NewtonRunning BOCO ATs, and got to lay the foundation for my 1, 2, and 3 mile times to improve from. Today, I just needed to get out and run. No races to train for right now, so I'm training for something different. I ran about 1.16 miles in 8:51. My goal is to work my way to a 6:00 minute/mile pace. I'm closer than I thought I'd be, but still have a long ways to go. Now, I'm training to better myself. I also remembered that I have two months of my gym membership left, so maybe I'll start to incorporate strength training back into my routine. #STRroadrunner Mullet Man took on 3 more miles to slowly taper for Saturday. Now the only things standing in the way are 2 miles tomorrow, the race expo, the decent drive to Madison, and 2 days. I'm looking forward to getting back to America's dairy land and taking the running tour of Madison.
