Sweaty?
Just imagine this.
Eddie freshly back from his tours with Christopher and his service dog, Shadow, by his side. It’s a struggle to find work that will allow him to have his service dog with him so he decides to open a flower shop at his family’s encouragement. He enjoys it more than he thought he would, loves the slow-paced life he has now. One day his services get requested at the local firehouse, some kind of party is being thrown to celebrate one of their members coming back to work, and they want ALL of the flowers decorating the place for some reason.
So Eddie goes, Shadow diligently following at his side, and decorates the entire stationhouse in tulips and roses and marigolds and lilies. He hangs around briefly, making sure everything is to Hen’s satisfaction (of course it is, Eddie is fantastic at his job) when he notices one fireman, in particular, standing off to the side with a haunted look in his eyes that startlingly reminds Eddie of himself when he came back from tour. He asks Hen, but Hen dismissed him distractedly, only mentioning that his name is Evan and not to worry about it. Eddie lets it go, but later that night, he can’t seem to get those haunted eyes out of his head (not to mention that gorgeous face and- focus, Eddie).
So every day, for the next two weeks, he sends a bouquet of flowers to the station house addressed to this ‘Evan’. He doesn’t expect much from it, just hopes that maybe they’ll bring a smile to that sad face, and is pleasantly surprised when he sees Evan walk shyly into his store one day. They talk for a while, just small talk at first while Evan thanks him for the flowers. But then Evan keeps coming back, and Eddie keeps sending flowers. Eddie knows what he wants. He’s patient and willing to wait until Evan is ready.
One day, maybe after a few weeks of talking to each other, Evan asks Eddie out of a date and he agrees readily. The date goes well, and it’s only after that Evan confesses, however vaguely, the rough time he’s been going through (due to The Therapist but Eddie doesn’t know that yet), and how much Eddie’s daily flower bouquets have helped him keep smiling. And so, Eddie vows to do whatever he can to keep Evan smiling from then on.
(at some point, Buck meets Christopher and absolutely falls in love with the kid, but I feel like that should be obvious)

“...Pretty much one of the reasons why I married her...you can all back off from me wife now.”
That irrational fear of typing "sweaty" instead of "sweety" to your girlfriend.
