An appealing tall painted pine housekeeper’s cupboard with three main storage compartments, Swedish, circa 1800. The topmost compartment has three smaller doors with two simple knob closures. The larger compartment has single large door with an oblong key and escutcheon and ample storage with two interior shelves. The narrower storage compartment has a single door with a key and diamond-shaped escutcheon and generous storage along with five convenient drawers. All raised on a scalloped apron and base. It retains the original paint throughout: a toned-down, naturalistic, painted pine exterior combined with a quintessential Swedish blue interior. Swedish winters are long and dark. Anything that brings more light into the house is embraced like the interior of this cabinet which seems to capture the feeling of a Swedish sky at the summer solstice.
