It's a real pity, there were some highly enjoyable scenes, some great scenes, but the thing as whole...In general, there seem to be more and more stuff like this in movies/TV lately: epic scenes, great cinematography, amazing effects, some great characters, etc, BUT the most crucial thing, the main plot is, well...shit, or more mildly, highly disappointing and dissatisfying. :/
Yeah, I totally agree. Imho, the whole Sherrinford thing was way over the top (that other post I reblogged that was like ‘never let Mark and Steven watch Saw, Shutter Island, or The Ring ever again’ was pretty accurate I think) and tbh I also didn’t like the Eurus plotline in general. That secret sibling thing was just too much of a cheap plot device to create Maximum Drama!!!!11!!™
I kind of miss the old days of S1/2 when the show was actually clever and well written. E1 and 2 brought that feeling back a little but E3 threw everything right out the window. (It also bothers me that there are still several loose ends from previous episodes that were never adressed again, interesting plotlines that were never developed further etc. but instead we got... this.)
