Sweeter Things (Cotton Candy Goodness)

Inspiration: This post I saw on Instagram (x) and my deepest desire to cuddle with Henry Cavill.

Author’s Note: I just want to cuddle the Puppy.

You and Henry sat on the couch together, watching the movie flickering on the tv. But, you kept getting distracted by Henry's fidgeting as he sat beside you. You frowned at the tv for a moment, then turned your head to look at him.

“Are you all right?” You asked, concerned.

“I pushed myself a little harder in the gym then I intended too.” Henry confessed to you, his muscles were tight and sore, making sitting still nearly impossible to do.

“Here.” You put your arm around his broad shoulders and coaxed him to shift on the couch, so he could lay his head in your lap.

Henry was both stiff from his workout and not knowing what you were up too. But, you rested back against the couch cushions and started to tenderly stroke the side of his face and his hair, your fingers would linger on the side of his neck for a moment, before curving around to the back and nape of his neck, finding the tangled knot of muscle there. You rubbed and kneaded at it, running your hand over it and the junction at his shoulder. Henry moaned at the warm and pleasurable pressure you applied. You trailed your hand from his shoulder to his back, while your other hand twisted his curls around your fingers, rubbing his scalp in an enchanting way. He practically purred as you played with his hair and your nails grazed the strained muscles of his back, taming them back into loosening up and relaxing.

You pulled up the back of his shirt and pressed the palm of your hand flat against the small of his back, letting the intense heat of your hand melt away the uncomfortable and painful throb that was there from Henry using his glute machine. Henry moaned loudly and pushed his hips against your hand, his spine rolling as you rubbed your hand up and down his back, wanting to feel the firm pressure against his skin.

It wasn't until you felt something warm and wet hit your bare thigh that you focused on Henry's face. It was a mix of glowing happiness to your attention, affection and love, reveling in the sweet and intimate care. But, his face also had a hint of something more tragic, quiet tears dripping down his cheeks and onto the skin of your legs. Your heart palpitated and felt like it had jumped into your throat, seeing your strong bear of a boyfriend, your superhero and Witcher, cuddled into your lap glowing with your attention, but also so emotional.

“Henry.” You whispered his name and tenderly wiped his tears away, leaning down to kiss his curls.

“I'm sorry.” He sniffled back, biting into his lip to try and get a handle on himself.

To no avail.

“Does something hurt?” You asked, worried. “Did I do something?”

“Nothing hurts, now.” Henry replied, rubbing at his wet eyes. “But, you did do something.”

Your heart clinched hearing his words. “I'm so sorry.” You choked, panicked.

“No.” Henry rasped, turning to lay on his back, his head still cradled in your lap as he looked up at you. “Nothing bad.” He tried to reassure you. “It's just..” He paused, feeling a bubble of emotion try to overwhelm him again, fresh tears stinging his blue eyes.

“I've never had anyone do this to me before.” He confessed, taking your hand and hugging it against his chest. “I've never had someone hold my head in their lap, while playing with my hair and rubbing my sore muscles.” He explained to you, threading his fingers through yours. “It feels really nice.” He whispered, new tears finding release.

“You deserve it.” You whispered back, using the edge of your hoodie sleeve to dab away his tears. “That and so much more, Henry.” You cooed, kissing his forehead, tenderly.

Drawing from everyday experiences and the happenings of the world around her, no topic is off limits for Toronto-based artist Jacqueline Tucci. Jacqueline just released the second single, ‘Sweeter Things,’ from Jungle Sounds. Inspired by feelings of frustration at so many things that are happening around her and in the world, ‘Sweeter Things’ is about having a voice and wanting to use it through music, but feeling pressure to not step on any toes and to not say things that might make people upset.

Jacqueline elaborates further: “’Sweeter Things’ emphasizes the importance of being true to yourself and speaking up for what you believe in.The lyrics are tongue-in-cheek but the message is sincere. I think a lot of women, in particular, sometimes feel like we need to live a certain way based on someone else’s standards, but it just isn’t realistic. You know what matters to you and you should stand up and speak up for that.”
