You say Lotus eventually lives in Snowdin, is that where he sets up shop on his own?

Yes! I actually have part of this written out, so SPOILERS—

After Lotus becomes Asgore’s favorite sweet-piece, he earns enough money to buy his contract and move out to Snowdin. He was offered a place in the palace, but Snowdin has no ‘pieces, and he wanted to help the monsters there. With Asgore’s and Undyne’s protection, few monsters are foolish enough to mess with him. After he proves his value, the monsters of Snowdin are equally protective of him. Grillby especially.

Lotus is from a regular Underfell right? Like a counterpart to Edge directly? How exactly did Lotus' brother get interested in the Royal Guard though?

It is, and he is.

And...Obsidian didn’t really have much of a choice. Gaster sold Papyrus to Mettaton because he wasn’t useful to the project, and after he died, Sans was taken by the crown to be the Royal Judge. He’s not in the Guard, though. I think Razz is the only Sans in the guard.

We're going with a queerplatonic pairing--Lotus and Lace. (My Sweetfell Papyrus and Muffet.)

Love these two as a pair. Their relationship is so fascinating to me because it really is the least heteronormative pairing I have. They're not romantic. I don't think they're sexual with each other on their own...but I do think they enjoy bringing a third home to share for a night.

And yet, I'm pretty sure these two are life-partners. No matter what else happens, they're together and there for each other for life.

...honestly I wish I could explore their relationship a bit. It's just a fun space to explore, tbh.
