💜Sweet Tooth💜
‘Double post today, the last of year 5’s twice as fancy girls
The sweet tooth rewatch and finsihing the shkw is going to take me forever just becauae of the amount of little details in the practical effects and set design alone. But lets start with episode one. Mostly with the second half of the episode bwcause thst is where alot of the detail stood out to me.
Sweet tooth episode one rewatch.
•the way there were some thibgs gus was veey fsmilar with and otbers that he just *wasnt* as done so phenomoly well. They showed that aspect SO WELL its probably going to get its own post. But until then the lockbox where he was more interested in the keys than the money. And way more interested in the paper than anything else. Also just the fact he is part deer and really acts like that. Sometimes shows or books will makw theie charecter hybrid with another animal and they just dont svt like itm but gus fsirly consitrntly SMELLS things as a method of investigstion. A lot more than a human ever would.
•gus's exoressions in his ears!
•the fact the choice of bait the paochers used isntsomething gus wouod hsve been amilar with is SUCH. A good detail. Because the poschers dont ubderstsnd the hybrids.
•my one criticism is i think gus processed pubba's desrh a little too quickly for someone who had no reason to understsnd what death was.
•the little homemade books.
•i love love love the desogn of the woods and little homestead. Anyway rip those ducks because theyre on their own now.
•pubba had so many keys and I wondee how often baby Gus played with rhem like a rattle.
• was big man planning on poaching gus before he spoke or not? That set of scenes confused me.
•"sometimes all a boy has is his imagination" this show is captirin ehy i love this chararacter archetype so much so well. Its becauae they tend ro force the narrartive to be creative when its done well. Becsuse you no longer get to just make the choices most people would make. You hsbe to *really* think about what the soecific chsracter woukd do. Because its often not the same.
•they slipped in the fwct deer hybrids were rare so subtly i dont even think i csught it the first watch around.
•The way gus[and all rhe hybrids later on] really moce similarly to the species they are is GrREAT practical effects.
•the foreshadoiwing of the skill gus would need to over the fence when he FINALLLY clesrs thst one rock near the ducks.
This show is brilliant so far. Ive seen enough of it im 100% open to spoilers. @man-i-dunno
Okay I just woke up this beautiful Thursday afternoon and hopped on twitter to see
They’re making a NETFLIX THINGY based on the comic SWEET TOOTH. I remember trying to read Sweet Tooth when I was WAY younger than I am now and not understanding the plot and sorta being deterred by the art style. But this.....I’m such a WEAK sucker for a proper animal human hybrid story. I think I remember it being about a virus apocalypse and at the same time it started these little animal human hybrids were born so they started getting blamed? And the main guy was a little deer boy named Sweet Tooth.
Look at that BABY!!!! Baby Deer Boy!!! He’s SO SOFT.
It actually really looks GOOD, like the way in the trailer his ears flick around and I don’t think it’s the design where it’s a weird cop out of having both animal and human ears.
I WANT TO GIVE YOU ALL MY MONEY, MY WELL DESIGNED LITTLE DEER LAD.
Me knowing I'll never relate to this song because I had a root canal when I was 6:
